A rancher shows how to move cattle through a gate by positioning himself on the left side and letting them follow the fence naturally. Relaxed walking and fence-following mean less stress, smaller crews needed, and simpler handling.
This video shows cattle moving nice and relaxed, going as a herd. All I did was get out to the left side of them to get them to go the direction I wanted out the gate. They're just going down relaxed, following the fence all on their own. They know they're going someplace. Whoops, look at there, there's an open gate. Went right through that hole with nobody turning them. No pressure, no stress. See a little buckling play in there, just acting as a herd going through the gate. Here I come way up and back of them. When you get your cattle moving nice and relaxed like that, you don't have any stress, smaller crews, easy to do.
