I woke up this morning to the majesty of the mountain view. Something about a springtime morning makes everything brand new. The newborn calf, the mare with foal, the wind-whispered song through the trees. The scope of all the glory at hand, it hits hard to think he took the time to make a little speck like me. So sing the glory song to the heavenly host, to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the holy cold, in all of the beauty, in all the wonders that come from fear of the wind and the rolling thunder. Creation on a scale we can't comprehend. What a God we have. It calls us friends. Caught in earthly pursuit, we forget All that you have done. We work and worry and we forget the sacrifice of your Son. When nighttime falls and stars blanket the sky, the coyotes sing their haunting lullaby. How can some men say you're not real at all? Well, it's safe to say The pride will go before the fall. So sing the glory song to the heavenly host, to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. In all of the beauty, in all the wonders, in humble fear of the wind and the rolling thunder. Creation on a scale we can't comprehend. What a God we have who calls us friend. Sing the glory Glory song to the heavenly host, to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. In all of the beauty, in all the wonder, humble fear of the wind and the rolling thunder. Creation on a scale we can't comprehend, what a God we have who calls us friend. Oh, what a God we have. To call us friend. Coronado came here in search of gold. His bloody rapine, it seems, had foretold. The Spaniards came to lay claim to this land, underestimating its harshness and the will Born tribes of the red man fought and bled. More people came here, but still more fled. The vastness of this land proved too much for Spain to hold. They gave up on their dream to build a new gold. Next came the mountain man. In search of fur, Kit Carson and Bridger and many more we've never heard. A new country formed from Europe's unwanted scattered seeds, fueled by freedom and what was called Manifest Destiny. Manifest Destiny. Mountain men, stories of the West's endless bounty spread. Dreams of the Garden of Eden filled the pioneers' heads.
Turn the sod, but the land would not accept the plow.
