A rancher describes how a new 9-foot water drinker improved his herd's condition and cohesion. The cattle now navigate terrain independently, use the right trails, and regroup on their own. He plans to let them range up a nearby mountain based on how they move.
Would have been better if we would have had a lot better feed and a bigger drinker than that 9-foot drinker. We definitely made a big improvement in these cattle and how they want to be together. The other cattle that are still getting in up over here that took the right trail. Plan is to have them range right up that mountain right there. All of these cattle coming down from here, they're doing this all on their own accord. They figured out the other cattle were over here, started heading here, and here they are.
