A method for moving cattle out of a feedlot pen by keeping your horse parallel to the cow and moving laterally away, rather than turning from the head. The cow turns and threads through the herd more easily. Less stress, simpler sorting.
When pulling cattle from a feedlot pen, sorting out of a row deer, it's a lot easier to take and use lateral movement to get your cattle to turn and thread their way through the other cattle rather than trying to get up to their head and turn them. Keep your horse parallel to the cow. But at the same time move laterally away from it.
