Hey everyone, welcome to PTSD TV. Today is Monday Motivation, and today we are going to be talking about focusing on what you can do and not on what you can't do. So this episode of PTSD TV is sponsored by Broken to Unbreakable, which is my PTSD and CPTSD recovery program. So it's an awesome program, and that kind of leads me into what I do, right? So I am a PTSD and CPTSD recovery coach. So I had CPTSD for over 15 years and now no longer do, and now What I do is I help people through the Broken to Unbreakable program recover from their own PTSD and CPTSD. And this lovely man to my right here is my better half.
And my name is Brad Schipke, and, um, like she said, I am her significant other, and I also had PTSD, and I was there for every step of Kayleen's journey, um, through her recovery process. So you get to see both sides, and I'm super excited on these Mondays, every Monday Um, for these motivational episodes. And, uh, this one's a super, super important one because it's, it's kind of insidious, right? Like those, those thoughts of what you can do and what you can't do. But, uh, I'll turn this back over to Kay, and, uh, I just can't wait to get started.
It's great.
It's gonna be a good one.
I say T-word, insidious.
Insidious. Yeah.
So we'll just, I guess, kind of before we dive right in, there's always a few things we like to kind of address and like to say. And the reason that we do the podcast and the YouTube video, if you're watching on YouTube, It's because we want to kind of create an open forum to spread the right beliefs about PTSD and that, you know, you can overcome this, you can heal from this, even if you've suffered for decades, even if you feel hopeless, even, you know, no matter what your situation, you can heal from this, you can overcome this. And, you know, we always like to also start with PTSD is a normal reaction to an abnormal event, right? So You're not crazy. You're not— I don't know, a lot of people think like they're real sensitive or something. You're, you're a normal human being having a normal reaction, and it's really hard, and it takes a huge giant toll on your life, but you can overcome it. So I guess we could just kind of usually like to start with that, to spread the right belief. So we're here to spread positivity, to spread hope, to give you love, to send love your way, to give you support, to give you resources, and ultimately What we do every episode, right? We have our kind of our things that we talk about. And at the end of every episode, we give you an action to take. So now these are, these are actions that if you take them, they will change your life, right? They're little actions. And with each episode, if you take a little action, you're going to have amazing, amazing changes in your life just from the episodes.
Right. Um, so, cause it's not like this one big shift that's going to happen, right? You're not going to get like cured overnight. You can make huge leaps with certain like processes and stuff. But it's really about the consistent daily efforts and actions that you take, the small ones, right? Daily. And those compound over time to make massive, massive changes. Because I didn't heal overnight. Kayleen didn't heal overnight. We took some like big jumps in the middle, but like those big jumps never would have happened if we never took all those little steps. So that's kind of why we do all this stuff is to give you, um, the Action steps to do every single day. The little steps to help you along, take, taking little steps. I don't know why Kayleen's laughing at me, but she's always laughing at me. She's like, she's just a happy person.
All right. So we'll just jump right in, I guess. Number 1. So we're going to be talking about the fatal traps. So focusing on what you can do and not what you can't do. So the fatal traps to, you know, having the wrong perspective.
What's going to pull you back?
What you can control, right? What are the things in our life that we can control? And then strategies for change. Of course, the most important kind of part there is like, okay, you know, I know what the fatal traps are. I know what I can control. Now how do I do it? Right. Right. And, um, and then of course in action. So without further ado, the fatal traps. So what are the fatal traps to focusing on what you can't do rather than what you can do?
They're really all like the mental, mental programming that we've all pretty much been programmed with, right? Because like our growing up and just being in society, like we've been programmed and like taught all these rules and like ways of thinking and of like just like operating our lives that are negative, right? So like some of like the 3 fatal traps that we're gonna talk about today are like we said, or like I said before, the SAT word insidious, right? They're like, they're hard to Really become aware of, but like the first one being complaining, the second one being worrying, worrying, and the third one being making excuses, right? So those are the three like fatal traps that will really keep you in that mindset of focusing on what you cannot do. And those are the three things that you should really kind of be like focusing on and asking yourself like, am I complaining? Am I worrying? Am I making excuses? And all of us do that at some point or another, Kayleen and I included. And it's easy. It's easy to spot those when you're like saying it, when it's like, oh, like it's such a crappy day, or like, you know, this person is so annoying, or like this guy at work just like keeps pestering me over and over again. And like when you're saying out loud to other people, like that's easy to catch. But the hard ones to catch are when you're saying it. mentally, right? When you're just saying it in the background and you're not really aware of it, like those, those patterns and those mental habits that you have and those mental loops that you just keep replaying over and over and over and over. You just keep complaining. So like, what are some things that like people complain about? Like, so like, what are some like examples that—
Everything. So like, this is a really wide range. And like Brad said, this is like a really dangerous area because a lot of times, you know, when it's in your head and you're not aware of it, it's not super obvious. So there's, there's like little things. So there could be a big thing like, oh, I hate this guy at work, but there could also be a little thing like, ah, like it's raining. And like, that wasn't a very obvious complaint, but that, you know, had the same effect where I was like, ah, like I would— basically what I was saying with that was like, I wish it wasn't raining.
Yeah.
I don't like the rain for some reason, right? Um, or like worrying. Like worrying is about either past or future, right? And so the only time that we have to live right now Is right now, right in this very moment. And, uh, man, a couple weeks ago we talked about something, um, a big episode on awareness. We talked about the internal roommate, right? Which are basically like the thoughts in your head.
Yeah.
Saying like, you know, there was a great example of let's say you're waiting at home and you're waiting for your boyfriend to come home and you're calling him and he doesn't pick up and he was supposed to be home 30 minutes ago. And you're calling him and you're calling him and the voices in your head are saying, he hates you, he's gonna break up with you.
Yeah.
You did something really, really wrong.
You're a bad person.
You don't deserve this. I can't believe he won't pick up. You should just leave. Don't even, don't even stay here, right? And then, you know, 5 minutes later your boyfriend gets to the door with flowers and he's like, hey, I want to take you on this really special date night. My phone died, you know, I dropped it in a puddle and it just totally it doesn't work anymore. And you're like, oh my gosh, that's great. I knew it.
Oh, he does love me.
And then he proposes, right?
Yeah.
And so like you went from like, he's gonna leave you and you should leave him first, to like the love of your life. And so like, anyway, so the thoughts inside your head are really powerful. And that internal roommate is really powerful when you're worrying, right? So you're worried about past or future and not living in the moment. And it's trickier than just being like, oh, I'm gonna live in the moment. But also, you know, something that you can control. But first thing, of course, is to find that awareness and start to realize the thoughts in your head.
Yeah, yeah. And if you, um, just make it like a mental note to like go back if you're having trouble with that and like identifying those thoughts, to go back and listen to that episode, um, because that's an amazing episode. But, um, those, those mental— like, that's the first step really, like becoming aware of what your thoughts are. And like, it's pretty much everything, like And like, I have to— I still, I catch myself all the time. It's like, um, a big one for me is like, oh, I'm tired, or like, oh, I'm unfocused, and I complain about it in my head in the background almost all the time. Or like, why am I so tired? Like, whatever, whatever. I complain about certain things or worry about certain things. I make excuses why. And what, what really is an excuse? Why you can or why you cannot do something, right?
Yeah.
Why, why can't I do this and not this, right? And those are the things that really hold you back. And exactly what we're talking about, those things, if you are complaining, if you're worrying, if you're making excuses, you're focusing on what you can't do in life, right? So those are like the things we need to identify first, the weeds that we need to pull out of your mind.
And a great one that always comes to mind is like you seeing a situation, right? You taking in a situation of either someone being successful or someone achieving or someone doing something good. And in your head you say, yeah, but, right? So like, I see Brad achieving— I don't know, he can do 50 push-ups, and I'm like, yeah, but he's a guy, so I can't do that, right? So like, you, you begin that sentence with, yes, he can do that, great, but I can't do that for all these reasons, right?
Right.
And it's a good way to kind of try to catch yourself.
That's a huge—
in those moments, especially when you're comparing and We talk a lot about comparing and how the reason that we don't share, you know, details— for one, it's not helpful. For two, comparing is really dangerous. So you're saying, you know, if I share my situation or Brad shares his, you go one of two ways. And one way is, wow, that was so bad, I have nothing to complain about. And the other way is, well, that was nothing compared to mine, I'm never gonna heal.
Right, right.
So basically those yeah, buts, and it's important to try to catch those. And if you are you know, if you can't catch those, if you don't catch those, they become those fatal traps where you just, you just get spiraled down into all the things you can't do rather than all the things you can do. So the first step there, right, is just to become aware of those things, of the complaining, of the worrying, of the excuses.
Mm-hmm.
We'll link the episode in the description here so you can go and watch the one on awareness because it's really Really, really good.
Yeah, yeah.
And then on top of that, I lost my train of thought.
Well, I think that kind of segues perfectly into the second point on talking about the things that you can control, right? So what are the things that we can control, right? We can control our thoughts, we can control our actions, and we can control our environment. And ultimately, you can control you, right? So often we're worried or worried, one of the fatal traps, about other people, what other people are doing, right? What other people are doing to us, or like we take on their emotions and stuff like that. But ultimately, you are the master of your life, right?
Right.
Only you can do— we talk about this all— only you can, can like do things for yourself, right? Only you are having your thoughts. Those are your thoughts. Those are your actions. Right? This is your environment, which is actually just like a byproduct of your actions, right? And your thoughts, right? But yeah, you can change your thoughts. We talk about this all the time. So like you become aware, right? You become aware. Oh, I'm complaining. Oh, I'm making an excuse right now. Oh, I'm worrying about something. Don't beat yourself up, right? That's a huge one, right? Because like, oh, I'm worrying. Oh, you like you you piece of crap. Like why are you worrying? You know you shouldn't be doing this. You just listen to that episode. They tell you not to worry and how bad it is, and then you just think you're a bad person. But you're not. Don't worry.
Don't worry.
Don't worry, you're not a bad person. But don't beat yourself up, right? That's— I mean, that's a huge step, right? That right there is just another thing, another— actually, that's another fatal trap, right? You're beating yourself up. You know, you're causing yourself— that's a negative thing, right? When you beat yourself up. When you can just accept, be like, okay, this is my reality, right? This is where I am right now. I'm complaining a lot. I'm making a lot of excuses. You know, I'm worrying about a lot of things. That's just my starting point, right? That's just like that's my baseline, right? So this is just where I'm beginning. I just need to start working, taking those little steps, like showing up today to move forward, right? Right.
Right.
And um, that's the first thing I always like to say is like do not beat yourself up because that's I did that for years. I think most people do that for most of their lives.
Yeah. Yeah.
It's like They just beat themselves up for either actions they had, thoughts that they had, anything in their life. And that's like, they feel the guilt and they beat themselves up and they're just like, that cycles you down, right? So if you can't stop that, you're just going to keep cycling yourself. So don't beat yourself up. Be kind to yourself. Bring yourself love. You know, like that, that's the first thing. You got to love you. You're the only person. You got to take care of you.
Yeah. You are at the center of everything. We talk about—
You got to be your best friend, man. You gotta be like, you gotta be the best friend to you right now. We're getting off, we're getting a little off here, but like, you gotta be the best friend for you. But this is like really important if you're gonna be identifying all these negative thoughts in your head. Like, you gotta, you gotta become like the family for yourself. You gotta be the friend, the best friend for yourself, you know? You gotta be there for yourself. Be like, man, hey, it's okay. What would you say to your best friend? Say that to yourself. What would you say to the person you love most in this world?
Or your dog.
Say that to yourself.
What would you say to your dog? We're way kinder to our dogs than we are to ourselves.
We're way kinder to our dogs. Yeah. So that's like the first thing, because like now we're talking about things that you can control. And usually when you start to shift to trying to control those negative things, you beat yourself up a lot. So that's, that's like the first step there. But you can control your thoughts. You can shift your thoughts. You can think about anything you want, right? You can make affirmations. You can say positive things. That's another way to change your thoughts, and you can change your actions. Obviously, I just hit Kayleen right there. That was a little hard. I apologize for that. I'm a little excited. I don't know. April Fools! Happy April Fools, everybody. I can control my actions, and I'm sure I will be punished for that later on. And you can control your environment because like you are—I don't know—you are pretty much your your environment's like a byproduct of your thoughts, but you're also kind of a byproduct of your environment. But ultimately you control your environment, right? So your environment has a huge influence on you. And what, what are— I'll throw this over to Kayleen. What are some like characteristics of or parts of an environment that affect you, that affect people? Like, what are some things that are in an environment that cause you to whatever, fall like for the fatal traps or, you know, cause you to like become better? Yeah.
Um, a big one just like straight out is clutter, right? So like the having a clean environment. Now you don't have to live in a mansion to succeed, right? And you, you like, no matter where you are, if you have a clean and organized environment, that's a successful environment right there. So if you're living in someplace maybe that's like really dark And really cluttered and maybe like dusty, and you just have like kind of clothes piled up everywhere, or it's totally filthy.
Laundry bins of dishes, dirty dishes.
That's a product kind of of your thought process, right? And so yeah, dirty dishes in the sink. And so, um, those things all add up to basically— they basically like pile you on the complaint train, right? So when you trip over stuff in your environment, when you see all that clutter, When you go to use the sink and there's— it's full of dishes, all those things are like frustrating, right? So they add like to this threshold of like, oh my gosh, I can't believe like this, this is so cluttered. I have to do all this laundry. I hate tripping over stuff, right? So you get all those negative thoughts from that environment and you are the only person in control. Yes, you might live with other people, but you ultimately are in control of that environment.
Right.
You know, someone else isn't doing the dishes. Kick them out of your house or encourage them to do it or just do it because it's gonna make you feel better right now. Don't be walked all over, totally different conversation. But if it makes you feel bad, you can sit and have a conversation. Hey, this really, really affects me. It affects how I mentally speak to myself. It would mean a lot to me if you would just, you know, right away do the dishes.
Yeah, shift, because when you're like I can't, I can't change this. I'm living with all these people. I can't change my environment. They make the house dirty, not me. You're focusing on all the things you can't do, right? So what can you do? Stop, stop telling me all the reasons why you can't clean the dishes or why you can't like, uh, get this other person on board to help you do the dishes or get this other person— even more important, get this person on board to support you in your goals and your recovery and your health, right? Don't tell them that they're not on board. Ask yourself, how can I get them on board? Right. Right, right, right. How can you do that? Right, it's so simple.
It really is as simple as that. How can I? Right, and that kind of blends into the last one, which is strategies for change.
Strategies for change.
Excuse me. So it's a 3-step process. It's you become aware, you plan, and then you implement, right? You take action, you do. So the first step, awareness. Be aware of the complaining, the worrying, the excuses. All those negative thoughts, you know, being frustrated, be aware of those emotions. And, uh, my train of thought that I lost before, I actually found. And what it was was a really simple awareness exercise is to think out loud. Say everything that's in your head out loud. Have that whole conversation out loud. Yeah. And you're gonna be like, whoa.
And another, um, kind of variation of that is journaling. They kind of call it, um, Stream stream of conscious consciousness journaling, but basically just write. You just write. You don't judge it at all. You don't judge it at all. You just write. You just write. You just write. You just write. You'll be amazed at what comes out, and also kind of funnels like if you're having like all these crazy. This is journaling's like really important for for people with PTSD because you have all these like crazy thoughts bouncing around your head, and it's hard to really like get a handle on it, control it, and focus it. And that's exactly what writing does, because you can only write one word at a time. You can only write one word, right? One letter at a time. So it forces you to focus your thoughts down into a single word, to a single sentence. So that is another way to kind of become more aware of your thoughts and just letting it flow out. So those are 2 great exercises.
That's a great one. So the awareness first and foremost, and then plan. Say, okay, so this is the part where you don't beat yourself up. You say Wow, my environment is really cluttered, really dirty. It is making me feel stressed. And this is— now you go down to the plan, right? And you say, okay, this is what it is. And this Saturday when I have the day off or the evening off from work, I'm gonna put some music on and I'm gonna clean it, right? And I'm just gonna have a cleaning party, right? And have a good time and relax and just clean it. Just do it.
Yeah, take a spoonful of sugar and just clean it up.
That's all that it is. Yeah.
And here's how you make the plan. How to make a plan, right? So you become aware of whatever the issue is, and then you have to create a plan. That's step two. How do you create that plan? You ask yourself, how can I? How can I do this? How can I fix this problem?
So if the original excuse is like my house is filthy, but I don't have enough time to clean it, right? That's a negative excuse. Right, right, right. Excuse. So. my house is filthy. How can I make time to clean it?
Right, right.
While we're watching the basketball game or the football game or while we're cooking dinner, let's take 5 minutes and just like hustle around and like clean up. Or like ask everyone, hey everyone, we're gonna have a 5-minute cleaning party. Put a timer on for 5— like anyone's gonna clean for 5 minutes. You're not making it this big thing, right?
Right, right.
Set a timer for 5 minutes a night. You have 5 minutes a night. So how can I— yeah, I can do 5 minutes a night.
And this is really where the power comes in for you, because like we can give you exact steps to do to solve a specific problem, but this— like right now we're teaching you how— we're like empowering you and teaching you how to solve your problems and find the solutions to your problems, because we don't know everything. We're not aware of all your problems, you know? Like, right, we're aware of like what we're going through. Like only you can be aware of your problems, and only you can find a solution to your problems, right? So you have to ask yourself, how can I do this? So what are some things that you— what are some problems that you're facing? What are some of the fatal traps that you're going through, right? Yeah, right. Like, what are you complaining about, right? And then you ask yourself, why am I complaining and how can I stop complaining? How can I fix this? How can I change this, right? How can I? How can I? How can I?
And then the last and most important part of the plan is implementation, right? Action. Take action. If you don't take action, nothing's gonna change. And as much as we would love to sit in your shoes and heal your PTSD and take action and do all these things, we can't. No. Right? So you have to take action. And something we talk about a lot is relaxed action, right? So you've made your plan. Now what you're gonna do, you're not gonna put any pressure on yourself.
Relax.
And you're gonna take relaxed action.
Relax.
You're just gonna do it. Just take it easy. And you're not gonna beat yourself up. You do what you can and then you're gonna move on and do what you can the next day. And that's really important.
Yeah.
And I do— I want to tie this back into PTSD, right? So how does this really relate to your PTSD is at your core, you are the only one in control of anything, right? So you can control things. And right now it might feel like you can't control your PTSD and that your PTSD is running your life and you are just out of control, right? That's what that feeling is. It just feels like Yeah. You can't get a handle on anything really. And so at the core, your PTSD is running your life. It's running your relationships. It's running the cleanliness of your house. It's running finances, diet, your finances, your friendships, your work life, right? Your career. It's, it's at the center of absolutely everything. And so something we always talk about, right? You need to heal that first. You need to tackle that issue first. And everything else is gonna get better, right? But you are in control of it right now. We've already told you there is a path to heal, and now what we need to do is take it, right? And so not how— it's just, how can I, right? How can I heal my PTSD? How can I make my nightmares better? How can I, right? And so we're here as a resource, and we're giving you resources, and we ultimately, like, I mean, this is what I do, right? I coach people. I work with people all around the world to do exactly that. And it's really, really important because once you start to heal that PTSD, once you heal the PTSD or the CPTSD, everything's just gonna get better. It just— it goes from like 0 to 100 really fast, like to the point where like—
Yeah.
You're gonna be able to maybe go back to work. I have a lot of people within a couple of weeks Go back to work, go back to working their job, right? So go back to making more money, their relationships change.
Going back to school.
Going back to school. Yeah. Sleep, right? Their nightmares stop.
Yeah. Their nightmares stop within weeks. Yeah.
Yeah. And so then you're getting a restful night's sleep, right? You're not as agitated in the morning, so you're better with your partner, you're better with your kids, you're better with your family, you're more aware, you're taking care of yourself, your body, your environment. Like everything gets better.
It's ridiculous. And like, that is the thing that everybody like wants to ignore. Right? And that's kind of like human nature, right? I'm going through this pain. I just want to ignore this pain, right? But that pain that boils up inside of you and that affects every single area of your life and ignoring it does not make it better, right? Right. Ignoring it does not make it better. So you have to become aware of the pain, right? Back to the 3-step process. The first step is aware. Second step is to create a plan. And the third step is to take action and to implement your plan. So become aware of the things that you want to change, right? Like Your sleep. I want to get a better night's sleep. Don't be like, oh, I'm— I have all these nightmares. Oh, I can't— I can't get any sleep. I— oh, I only get like 1 hour of sleep. Don't go to your friends and be like, I only get like 1 hour of sleep a night. Ask yourself, how can you change this? How can I get a better night's sleep? This is the first step. Like, you have to ask yourself, how can I get better? How can I get a better night's sleep? How can I reduce the flashbacks? How can I reduce the anxiety? Right?
Right.
That's like— that is the core of everything. How can I do this? How can I get better? How can I get better?
How can I? How can I?
That's the whole thing, right? Focus on what you can do, not what you can't do. Stop complaining, stop worrying, stop making stupid excuses, and stop beating yourself up for having all those things and start looking for solutions. Shift your mind from being problem-focused and focused on solutions. Switch it to being focused on solutions. But become aware, create a plan, ask yourself, how can I do this? And implement that plan, right?
That's it.
If you do that, you're gonna win.
3 steps.
Because like, you get, you get, you get so caught up in the complaining, you get so caught up in the worrying about like, oh, I'm gonna have this for the rest of my life, right? That's a common one.
That's really common.
And, um, you end up doing nothing and getting worse. And you like, you hold on to that PTSD and it infects and destroys every area of your life. So you have to, you have to, you have to look at the dark side and you have to ask yourself, how can I fix this? How can I, how can I fix all these things? And it's huge. And like, ask, reach out to Kayleen, send her an email. How can I do this? How are the ways that you are able to help other people with the same problem, right?
Mm-hmm.
Search for those solutions. She has a blog. We have a blog. Like, there's so many solutions on that blog, on Facebook, on Instagram, everything. You just have to look. You have to take that step and take that initiative in your own life. To make that change because no one can make it except for you.
Just ask yourself, how can I?
You, you, we can't do anything. That's all I got about that.
Okay, so action today: find what you need to fix. So if it's PTSD or if it's negative thoughts, find what you need to fix, become aware, make a plan, and implement, right? Yeah. And so For example, if it's negative thoughts, you're saying, okay, I'm aware I have all these negative thoughts and my plan is I'm gonna do gratitudes. And you do 5 gratitudes every morning.
Yeah, yeah, I keep a notebook next to my bed and I write 5 gratitudes every single morning.
That's great. Yeah, that's awesome.
And gratitudes have been proven to have the same effectiveness on depression as depression medication in a lot of cases.
Gratitude is magical.
They're super important.
There's a lot of things that are magical.
Yeah, we do that every morning still. Every morning, every night. I do mine every night, actually. But yeah, yep, yeah, yeah. And we express them. And we express them. Yeah, once you start writing them down, you start expressing them just throughout your life, which is awesome.
Yeah, just like in your day, like, yeah, you get into it and you start to do them a lot and you start to think about things. Because I try not to like repeat the same gratitude within like the same week because I, I, I want it to be real.
You want to force yourself to find the right—
to really look for the good things. So like, yes, I'm grateful for, for Brad and like for Shiloh, uh, for certain things. And those are very common ones, but some of them that just kind of naturally happen, right? When I like flip the light switch, I'm like, whoa, I am so grateful that we have electricity. You know, just like things like that where you look at anything in your life—
You can be grateful for anything.
And maybe you're like driving down the road and you see like someone working on like a high-rise or like doing construction like down underneath the road and you're like, whoa, like, I'm so grateful that someone else does that. Or like someone created all these underground and above-ground like systems to like give me comfort and like security.
And like, you just realize how amazing life is.
It's truly amazing. It's truly special.
Um, but your job, you can do the gratitude thing if you're having negative thinking, which most people are. Pretty much every single person on earth could benefit from gratitude, daily gratitudes. Um, But find what you need to fix, right? Take that that first step that build that awareness on the things that you need to fix. What is it? You can already think of one right now. Think of one, and then create the plan and implement the plan. Do it. That's it. And then do it. Do it. Do it.
Do it. Do it. Do it. So a little recap: focusing on what you can do and not what you can't do. Watch out for the fatal traps, which are complaining, worrying, excuses. What you can control is you. You are at the core of everything. So you can control your thoughts, your actions, and your environment for sure. Even if there's other people involved, sit them down. Hey, this means a lot to me. Please help. Okay, super easy. Yes, slightly more challenging, but really super easy.
Yeah.
And then strategies for change: become aware, plan, and implement. And ask yourself constantly, how can I do this thing? How can I accomplish it? How can I make time? How can I be better? How can I? Right. And that's the ultimate thing. That's huge. And find, find something right now. Like Brad said, think about that thing. Now you're aware of it. Go make the plan and go start doing it. Right, right. All right.
That's awesome.
All right, so some final words. This week, we— I'm gonna be doing consultations all week.
PTSD recovery consultations, one-on-one. One-on-one with Kayleen. The PTSD recovery expert.
So we talk about, you know, what your current situation is, right? We become aware of your current situation, then kind of aware of what you want in the future. What are your goals? What do you want, right? How— and then we talk about how we're gonna get there, right? So we really kind of bridge the gap between where you are, where you want to be, and just put a little bridge on it, right? And how you're gonna get there and how you're gonna achieve those goals. And, um, it's a, it's a great, great consultation. So many people, like, I talked to them and they're like, oh my gosh, like, I had no idea that, you know, it was even affecting all these areas, or that, you know, changing it would mean my life would look like this. So it's a, it's a really powerful conversation.
Yeah. And like, this is a huge opportunity for all of you out there who are suffering with PTSD, because like, let's just talk a little bit about the results that like Kayleen has been able to to to get with other people. Like she's been able to stop people's nightmares, nightmares, help people stop their nightmares within weeks, get them back in a job within weeks, get them back in like in school in weeks, and like literally turn everything around in just a few weeks for some people. And it's and it's remarkable. And like that like I'm not saying that happens to everybody. It's different for everybody. Like if if you're someone who's like Not going to take action. It's like, ultimately, like we said in this episode, it starts with you. But if you are someone who is like committed and like, I want to do this and I'm like, I'm sick and tired of this. Like, if you're the way that like we were before all of this, like, then this is perfect for you. And this is the exact thing that you need to be signing up for. And like, it's such a huge opportunity. And like, I wish like I had someone to talk to like this for starting off. And I wish someone else could lay out the exact steps that I could go through. Yeah, to heal. And, um, because literally I could, could have recovered in weeks and saved me years of my life. So, you know, just see this for the opportunity that it is and grasp it if you're, if you are, um, interested and committed to yourself.
Yeah. And, um, I think you make a great point. Like, the program, right, the Broken to Unbreakable program, it's like, it's amazing to watch people shift, right? So when I do have like a new student enroll in the program, it just, it goes from like hopeless and like in so much pain to like, oh my gosh, I got this.
Right, right.
Literally in like a matter of like minutes. And then of course you start doing the work and taking action and really everything changes. And like there was someone that we worked with recently that was having a really challenging time with their relationship. Right, and like couldn't talk to each other really, like pretty much almost couldn't be around each other.
Yeah.
And just from that conversation and making the decision to work with the program, right, and to work one-on-one with me in the Broken, New, and Breakable program, went from like we can't be around each other to like now we're on this journey together. We're a team. We've got this. And like they, you know, express like a lot of joy. Right. And then we're able to literally the next day spend that day together, relax together for the first time, have fun together for the first time in ages, and really just enjoy each other's company knowing that there was a path and knowing they had a plan and knowing they were going to be working with us.
Knowing that it wasn't hopeless.
Amazing.
And they were on the verge of breaking up. They were on the verge of like, just like total annihilation. Right. So like it's truly remarkable. So there will be a link in the description that will take you to Kayleen's schedule page where you can schedule the consultation. It's free, absolutely free. Take that time and you'll get to talk to her one on one, which is a crazy opportunity.
It is these days. Yeah. So okay, so schedule a consultation if you're struggling. If you're a partner. Reach out to your partner. See if you can get them on board listening to the podcast. Monday we do Monday Motivation. Tuesdays are PTSD Book Club. Wednesday is our PTSD Recovery Workshop. Thursday is PTSD and Relationships, one of my personal favorites. And Friday is our Q&A. So if you have any questions, reach out via email or in the— I get you can comment on some of the platforms. I don't know how true that is.
Email's probably the best.
Definitely email. And, um, so if you, if you like it, if you like what we have to say, if you like us, like it, right? Like, like the video, like the, the podcast, subscribe, rate us. If you love us or you hate us, rate us either way. Just rate us either way. Just rate us. Um, share it. A great way to help people is to share with groups, right? So if you're a part of any PTSD, like, recovery groups on Facebook or anything like that, you can actually share either the YouTube video and the link to that within the group. You know, our goal is to help as many people as we possibly can. And, you know, if, if you have the drive like I had, right, which was like, I want to help people, like, I just want to reach out, and I, like, my heart just breaks for people, then share the information. It's, it's It's free. It's amazing content. It really is. We love doing it. We love helping people, and that's a great way to do it.
Yeah, and keep coming back. Keep coming back listening. Help you keep you on track with your recovery. Mm-hmm. And like I said before, I wish I had resources like this.
Yeah, and there's a lot of people out there spreading disbelief and, you know, saying a lot of negative things, and we'll never say that every process, and we're not gonna do that. You're not gonna get that, and you're just gonna get that positive love. We're sending you love. We're sending you positivity. We're supporting you fully, and we've got your back, and we believe in you. We genuinely believe in you because we know that you can do this. So we do a lot of exciting things. So keep coming back, and we'll see you tomorrow for our PTSD book club. Yeah.
All right, sounds great. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
