Why I'm trying to make myself Obsolete
13 May 2020 · 36 min
Kaitlyn, a PTSD recovery coach, and Brad Schipke argue that good helpers should work themselves out of a job by teaching clients lifelong tools instead of creating long-term dependence. They critique therapy models that keep people on "cruise control" and say mental health education should start in school, not the therapist's office.

Every single person on your healing journey should be working to make themselves obsolete. Hey everyone, Kaitlyn here and welcome to PTSD TV. In this episode, we are talking about why I'm trying to make myself obsolete. And this episode of PTSD TV is sponsored by Broken to Unbreakable, which is my PTSD and CPTSD recovery program. So for those of you who don't know me, my name's Kaitlyn. I'm a PTSD and CPTSD recovery coach. who is trying to make themselves obsolete. And we'll jump into that in a minute here. But this lovely man to my left here is Brad Schipke.
I am Kailyn's significant other, and I'm very excited to talk about why we both want to make Kailyn obsolete in your life so you never have to talk to her or listen to her ever again.
So this is a pretty interesting kind of concept, you know, as a recovery coach, right? As someone who's trying to help people recover from this, this this big kind of dark thing, after recovering myself from this big dark thing, you know, I see a lot of people in the niche that are so kind of reliant. A lot of people who are struggling with PTSD are so reliant on other people for them, for, you know, feel-good purposes, to help them feel good, to help them cope, you know, even to help them heal. And they lean on these people so hard, which is, you know, it's great to have people in your life to lean on that help you. Um, but you know, ultimately this is your life. So the reason that I'm trying to make myself obsolete and we're trying to make ourselves obsolete from your life, and honestly from like the, the world in general, is because no one should hold the power over your life except for you. You shouldn't have to rely on someone for your entire life in order to feel good. Mm-hmm.
Absolutely. It's all about taking control in your own life, of your own life, of your recovery. And I think both me and Kayleen have kind of been in this situation too, where you are kind of like, whether you know it or not, sitting back and waiting for somebody else to come and either save you or give you all the information or heal you or do all the work for you. And that just will never happen. Like, at the end of the day, um, you have to get in there and do the dirty work yourself. You know, even if you go to therapy, you're the one who has to go in there and take control of it. Um, and the best therapists that are out there are the ones that are teaching you tools so they— so that you don't have to keep going to therapy. And you know, this is a problem if you've been going to dream therapy for 20 years and haven't gotten better. You might want to change. We, we pick on dream therapy just because we had a book. We read a book.
Yeah, we have this one book that Just, it's just, it's a long process to get very small results. It's a 20-year process to get small results.
Yes, if any. But, um, it's, it's all about taking control in your hands. And if a therapist or whoever you're working with or whatever is not trying to make themselves obsolete, meaning they're not giving you all the information you need to fully recover on your own, then you, it's your job to make them obsolete.
Yeah, every single person on your healing journey should be working to make themselves obsolete. That is the ultimate goal, or should be the ultimate goal, of every single person, whether it's a coach or a therapist or a psychiatrist or, uh, you know, even a doctor. Like, everyone should be working to make themselves obsolete because this is your life. And so the way that I kind of describe it to the people that I work with and my clients Is like, I'm here to, you know, take you in, right? And I, I don't know, I use the analogy of like, you're this like little bird, right? And I'm here to like take you in and take you under my wing and help you out and give you the tools and give you the resources to make you strong enough and to give you everything you need, teach you all the lessons that you'll need so that you can fly out of the nest and never ever ever return. Now you're welcome to come back and visit, of course, but you should never ever ever need me again because if you need me again, I feel like I failed you, right? And so I want to give you the tools and the resources that you can use for the rest of your life so you don't need me. That is my ultimate goal. I want to put the power completely, 100%, 1,000% in your hands because it is your life. And honestly, I don't deserve to hold the power over your life. You are the person that deserves to have that power. You are the only person that should have that power. So everyone on your healing journey, specifically on your healing journey, should be working to make themselves obsolete. And if they're not, they might not be the right person for you. You know, uh, we make jokes sometimes about like job security, right? And so, you know, a therapist— and I'm not saying any, any profession has malintent, you know— but they, you know, make their living off of you coming back time and time and time and time and time again. Right? And so there's kind of, uh, some people out there that think, well, uh, you know, therapy— I'll go to therapy for the rest of my life. And there's some therapists that are, are cool, like just on cruise control, we'll call it. And again, they're not—
Yeah.
It's not malintent. They're not trying to hurt you. They're not trying to string you along or anything. It's not this manipulative practice. But what it is is everyone's on cruise control, and if no one takes the wheel, if no one kind of gets off the exit or takes control You're going to be on cruise control forever. And both of you will be on cruise control.
That's an amazing analogy. And I've definitely felt there with my therapy. It's like, if you don't take control of the situation and what you want out of a session, it's highly unlikely that you're going to get exactly what you want out of it. Because how do they know what they want? Unless they're a really, really good therapist. I've never had a therapist. I've never been to anybody who gave me exactly what I wanted or exactly what I needed. I'd always have to ask, okay, what are, what are, what are some books that I can learn some tools on my own? Or like, how can I do what you're doing to me at home on my own time so I can get better faster? And when I get in there and I'm like, I would have to be like, all right, this is what I want to work on and let's go in, let's do it right now. Because there would always be some kind of like 10, 15 minutes of like talking and be like, no, let's— I'm paying you. I'm paying you $100 to be here out of my own pocket. twice a week, and it's been going on for a while. I'm here to do the work. Let's do the work. And when I didn't do that, it turned into a conversation just about pretty much nothing for the whole session. And so it really comes down to you taking control. I would say it's highly unlikely. I mean, I think that's a big difference. You had a really good point about the cruise control thing. I think the kind of The model, just kind of like the financial or business model of therapy is kind of interesting because I don't have a better model off the top of my head for one-on-one therapy, but the model is like, the longer you're here, the more money I make. So there's really no rush, unless you get somebody who is really on top of it. So it is kind of like, hey, I'm on cruise control. I'm here if you need me. I'll do whatever you want. And if you're not really pushing for what you want, then we'll just kind of go along at any old pace, meaning we're not really going to go that far or that fast or anything. And I think that's a really big differentiator from that model. It's like you just keep swiping a check every single week again and again and again and again. And there's no results based off of that. You can pay for the rest of your life.
Or insurance pays, which means both of you kind of end up on cruise control because I'm not paying for it. Paid, and maybe you get— you just have a small copay or you don't have a copay at all. And so you both end up on cruise control. And again, there's, there's no malintent here, um, but you know, it's, it's challenging to, to get clients. It's challenging to fill those hours as a therapist, as kind of an independent contractor, so to speak. And so, you know, you just, you just want to think about it. You know, someone who— you want a therapist I mean, you, you want to be the ultimate, uh, kind of catalyst in your healing journey. You want to be the one that is always pushing and, and moving and pushing the needle forward. Uh, you, you really can't be relying on anyone to do that because it's your life. It's not their life, it's your life. And so, but you, you want people in your healing journey, involved in your healing journey, that are, are working hard to not be in your healing journey, for, for your healing journey essentially to be over. I mean, that's what you should always be working towards is, okay, I'm healed, right? I've done it. We've done it. Now there's, there's nothing left to work on. Or we can sit and hang out and I can pay a $10 copay and we can just be friends, and that's fine too. You know, there's nothing wrong with doing that, even for years at a time. Like, it, it is nice to sometimes even just take that space and think about things, and it kind of forces you to, to put that time in. But when it comes to your healing journey, specifically when it comes to PTSD, everyone should be trying to, to, to lose their job with you, essentially.
Yeah, yeah.
It's the most important thing, and they should be giving you all the tools and all the resources to set you up long term so you have this foundation long term. I think something that we struggle with, at least where, where we grew up and how we grew up in our education system, is there's no teaching on mental health. There's like— there, at least when we were in school, there was like barely teaching on health. We had health like, I don't know, like once a quarter. It was like we didn't, we didn't have any sort of even formal health class. We learned almost nothing about nutrition.
No.
It was a mess, right? And we learned zero, literally zero about mental health.
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing. Had— didn't even hear the term.
No.
And you know, that's something we, we want to work to change. But if you teach young people, if you teach— it doesn't matter if you teach people mental health and how to have good mental health and the, the tools and the skills and the resources to create a healthy mind, it sets them up for success long term, right? When you teach a child, we'll say, you know, a 1st, 2nd, 3rd grader, basic arithmetic, when you teach them how to add and subtract, they have those skills. They have the foundation of addition and subtraction, and we did division and multiplication. You know, they have that from from elementary school, an elementary level, uh, fundamental understanding of math. And they have that for the rest of their lives, right? And so when they're in their 40s doing their taxes, they're adding, they're subtracting, whatever, they're budgeting. It gets maybe more complicated, but really it's addition and it's subtraction, multiplication, division. It's, it's really, really simple.
Yeah.
And they have this foundation. And so if you, if you, you, you never have— you don't have to go into elementary level classes every week and refresh on math and refresh on addition and subtraction and division and multiplication. You don't ever have to refresh on those things because they're built into a foundation, because you have the skills and tools that you need to, to use those for the rest of your life. It's a very simple kind of concept, right? And so that is what we're working to make mental health— but that is what mental health should be in, in a broad sense, is just a fundamental skill that you have and so the people that are on your healing journey, your therapist, your— any sort of clinician, your coach, whatever it is, they should be giving you the tools and the skills, teaching you the skills, right? There's this saying, you teach a man to— you— what is it?
Give a man a fish?
You give a man a fish, he eats for a day, right? You teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime, right? They should be teaching you how to fish, not giving you fish. That's not Good enough, and it shouldn't be good enough for you. And it's been good enough for a lot of people for a long time. But that's why you see people not recovering from PTSD, or it taking 15, 20, 25, 30, 45 years of therapy every week, or whatever it is. So you should be, you know, trying to make those people obsolete, but they should be teaching you, and you should be seeking long-term solutions. You should be figuring out, okay, how do I fish for myself. And they should be teaching you how to fish for yourself so you long-term have the skills and the tools that you need not only to recover from your journey but to keep yourself mentally healthy. And something I aim to do, right, is, you know, I give you all the tools and skills and I put the power totally in your hands so you can completely heal. It's totally in your hands. It's totally up to you. And then from there you'll always have those tools. You'll always have those skills if you want to teach them to your kids. If, you know, 30 years down the line, you know, God forbid something happened and you got hurt again, you know exactly what to do. You have the skills, the tools, the resources to heal yourself again. Again, God forbid something like that happens, but you, you have those in your life for good because you've, you've created and you've worked to create a foundation. of education around your mental health and around your, uh, I mean, just your health in general. But it's, it's a, it's really kind of interesting.
Yeah, I think it's, I think it's, um, it's kind of a huge mindset shift, a huge paradigm shift for, for a lot of people. Um, because if you have PT— I mean, it's likely you have PTSD or someone you know has PTSD, and that's why you're listening to this. Um, it's likely that you've always kind of just been given the fish, right? Like, just day after day, you, you keep going to therapy, they give you a fish, and then you're dependent on them to give you the fish to get better, to heal. Um, so it's a huge— it's a huge mindset shift in a really powerful way. It's simple, but, um, extremely, extremely powerful. Taking the power from this external source and giving it back to you. Um, even if you're in a situation where someone is Giving you the fish, if you're going to therapy and they're not teaching you what to do, you can still observe what they're doing and then learn from that as well. So like, it doesn't matter what situation you're in, you can observe and learn and apply. And that's what we did, you know, for a long— I mean, that's, that's one of the things that we, we did was like, we observed, we applied, we did, we tested, we did all these things to figure out what the best route was. Um, and that it really comes down to like, you can't just blindly trust any therapist, any doctor, any Anybody on, on your healing. You know, you can't just blindly trust that somebody's telling you the truth or that they have your best interests at heart or whatever, or that they're going to teach you the skills that you need to do, or that they're, they're bringing you down the right path. It's like you need to take that control. And if therapy was the solution, there wouldn't be a PTSD problem in the world. You know, there wouldn't be 22 veterans killing themselves every day. If therapy by itself was the answer, there still wouldn't be a problem. And that's a lot, a lot, a lot of— that's a problem that a lot of people don't understand. That's something that a lot of people don't understand is like they think therapy is the answer 100% of the time, always. But that's not always the case. You know, if it was the solution, then there wouldn't be a problem and we wouldn't be here talking to you, you know. So there is a really big problem with that. And it really comes down to that mindset shift of, you know, stop being this dependent person and start being this independent person, this independent healer, and taking all that control back to you.
That's, I think, the best way to put it.
Yeah.
You know, don't, don't wait for someone to heal you. No one is gonna come along and heal you, unfortunately, right? As nice as it would be to have someone just kind of skipping around the world and, and with a little basket of magical healing pills and throwing them out at everyone, no one's gonna come and do that for you. No one's gonna come and put their hands on you and heal you and, you know, absolve you of all your pain. It's, it's a challenging journey that you have to take for yourself.
Yeah, and that's a sad thing because you see so many people like that just waiting around and waiting around, be like, help me, help me, help me, help me, help me. It's like, no dude, you need to help yourself. You need to help yourself or else nothing will change. Even if somebody gives you everything, you still need to do the work. And every single day, every single day in the PTSD community as a whole across the globe, I see people and hear people every single day saying like, well, if I had this, or if this person helped me, or if I had this type of Whatever, I would be better. You know, or if the government gave me more help, or if, you know, therapy wasn't so expensive, or if this or whatever or that, and if the information was more accessible, and like, I would be better. It's like, dude, we're all in the same— we're all in the same environment, right? We have access. I mean, we have the internet. We have access to all this information. The only difference is that the people who heal take it into their own hands, um, and you can't— you can't— you You have to stop that blame game of like, oh, this person needs to help me. Oh, it's it's their responsibility to heal me, or like it's their fault that I'm not that I have this in the first place and I'll never get better. It's like you need to take that responsibility in your own life to get better, or else you just won't get better. It's like it's really that simple. And the people who don't like to hear that message are the people who are dependent on other people, who like to blame other people, who like to put the responsibility into other people's hands, and. If it kind of comes at you as like it shocks you, then that's kind of a good thing. And hopefully it shocks you out of that dependent state into a more independent state because that's the only way that you're going to make that recovery anyways. And both Kayleen and I were in that dependent state at one point where like, okay, this person's the expert, this person knows everything, this person's going to help me. And then you get there and you're just let down time and time and time again. Until you make that mindset shift, you know. And sometimes it's not the therapist's fault, right? Maybe a lot of times it's not the therapist's fault, it's the person going to therapy. I mean, it's, you know, there's a lot of great, great therapists out there. And then if you have someone who is expecting someone else to do all the healing, then no matter what the therapist does, that person's not going to get better. You know, you could have the best therapist in the world who knows exactly what to do, who wants to teach you the tools, but if you're not willing to take that power into your own hands to heal independently, to learn all these things, to apply these things to, to your life, to your healing, and, um, do all the hard work and the dirty work yourself— because it is a lot of hard work— then you're not going to get better, no matter how good the person is. I mean, no matter how good the information is.
You know, think of them like a piece of gym equipment. Obviously they're more than that, but like, think of them as a treadmill, right? And you can go and you can sit and you can look at the treadmill, but like, you have to get on the treadmill for it to work. They're a tool, they're a resource for you on your healing journey.
Yeah.
You know, so like, they're, they're great and they're amazing, they have these skills, but you know, if you don't press the button and press go, then you're going to be on cruise control, right? And you're not going to get on the treadmill, you're not going to lose the weight, you're not going to get in shape, whatever it is. And every day, I think one of the coolest things that I see is, like Brad said, if that shocked your system, then just kind of listen up for a minute, because a lot of people give excuses about why they can't heal and why Why it's it's harder for them, and the reality is your situation is your situation. You're the only person in the entire universe with your specific situation, and for that reason nothing else matters. So every single day, you know, I see someone who's homeless, who doesn't have any money, who's literally living in their car. That person heal. You see them say, "Okay, how can I heal?" And go to the library and. Listen to the podcast or, or use the resources that we put online, right? And, and they, they take tremendous effort and they have, you know, what I would consider like all odds against them. They have no money, no resources, uh, they're, they're, you know, living in, in horrible circumstances and they go and they do the work and they heal, right? And why is it that they can do that when they're homeless and they have no financial resources, uh, and then someone who literally has millions of dollars can, can spend literally hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to heal and they don't heal? You know, why is it that the person who has no resources and, and no family and no support, why can they heal when they're homeless and they literally don't have the resources? And someone who has unlimited resources doesn't heal and they never get better, right? And that's the person who is like suffering the most. And it's, it's because it's an internal game. It doesn't matter about you know, your environment or your circumstances or what you've been through or what you're going through or who supports you or who doesn't support you or who's making it harder. Like, my heart goes out to you no matter who you are, no matter what situation you're in. My heart is with you, right? We're here to help you and love you and, and push you and help you grow and, and put the power in your hands. But honestly, all the external stuff does not matter. What, what's internal is the only thing that matters. So you You have to, you know, I want to say this in a gentle way, and it's not going to come off gentle, but you have to stop making excuses and you have to start finding reasons to make it work. How can I make this work? How can I heal? How can I get a little bit better every day? How can I take this information and take action on it, right? How can I fill my mind with positive inputs? What's a— what are great resources that I can go and look and learn and, and grow and heal my PTSD? How can I be more independent and an independent healer and dependent only on myself and not on external people to heal. So you want to start asking the right questions.
Yeah, stop asking why is my, why is my life so terrible and start asking how I can make this better. And really the only difference between those 2 people, the homeless person and the millionaire, is the mindset that they have going into that. That's literally all it is.
And that's real. That's 1,000% real every single day. I mean, we reach so many people, we hear so many amazing stories and messages and things like that. And every single day, or very often, you see that story play out again and again and again. Someone with no resources, someone with the world against them, you would think, and then someone with unlimited resources. And, you know, the person who has their back up against the wall, those are the people that win. And the millionaires can win too. It's not that they can't, but it is all internal. Yeah, everything starts.
It's not about money inside. It's not about anything. Yeah, except for your mindset. Yeah, going into it. Take away everything from me. Just give me my mindset.
Right, and you have to you know you have to want it, and it's it's that seems like a silly thing to say, but you have to really want it. You know I can give you everything. I can give you literally the entire journey. I can lay it out for you step by step. But if you don't want it, if you aren't willing to put in the work and take action, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how much it costs me to give you, or like, it doesn't matter how much time I put into saying, here it is, here it is, do this, do this, do this. I could be on the phone with you 3 times a day and say, okay, now do this, now do this, now do this, now do this, now do this, now do this. But if you don't want it, if you're not willing to take action it won't, it won't matter. It won't matter what I do or what I give to you. You, you won't, you won't get there. So you have to want it. And to want it, you have to get rid of all those external excuses. You have to think in, in your mind, how can I make this work? What can I do to take steps forward?
It's really that simple when it comes down to it.
Hard sometimes, but you know, we're here to give you a hug and a kick in the butt at the same time because this is what we had to go through. And this is the, the mindset shift that we had to make when we were struggling. Because when we were struggling, it was excuse after excuse after excuse. I remember literally one time I was being so negative. I tell this story a lot because I think it's really funny, and it comes off differently probably when I tell it than it actually happened. But I was being super negative. Brad and I were fighting, and we had this book laying around. It was The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. And we're just fighting, like literally yelling at each other. And he— I don't know, the book must have caught your eye or something, and he picked it up and he like tossed it at me. He didn't like Chuck it at me.
I didn't throw it at her. I threw it at her, but I didn't.
I didn't throw it to me.
I threw it at.
I threw it to me.
It was a toss.
It was a toss.
It's an underhanded toss.
But it was really funny because like when I when I say I'm like he he literally threw this positive thinking book at me. No, but he tossed this book at me and I just read the COVID and it just kind of shifted in my mind. It was like a very specific moment that I remember it just kind of going from like black to white and it going from negative to positive and saying oh my gosh. What am I doing? Like, where is my mind? Why am I not in control? And how can I get in control? And you know what, that like, it was just, it was literally just the title. And it was just like, wait a minute, I can be more positive. There is a different way that this can play out. I don't have to follow these things. It's, it's not there. There aren't all these excuses. There are all these opportunities. And so it's little things like that that make a huge difference in your mindset. And that's kind of what we're here to do, to try to do, is to try to you know, create a better mindset for you so you can have the power in your hands and go and seek the things that you need to seek. So that, I think, is the, the summation of why I'm trying to make myself obsolete, because I want to give you all the power. I want to put all the power in your hands so you can heal, uh, so you no longer need me. You should not need me after we do work together.
Yeah, yeah. And most people out there At least this was the case with my recovery and Kayleen's recovery. Most people out there are not telling you these things, are not telling you the hard things that you need to know, are not telling the— basically telling you the truth that you need to take responsibility and you do need to stop making those excuses or finding the reasons why you can't do this. And it can be a hard thing to swallow. It can be a hard thing for us to say to people because we want to be nice to you, but You have to know that there's a lot of people out there who, especially in the, like, the general PTSD community, that will encourage you to make excuses, that will encourage you to pity yourself, will encourage you to think negatively, that will encourage you to just keep spiraling out of control, to find all the reasons why you can't heal, to find all the reasons why you're broken. You know, like so many, like, uh, Facebook groups, Facebook communities It's pretty much just without them knowing centered around building that negative belief that you can't do this. It's centered around making excuses for other people. It's centered around, you know, just coddling isn't the right word, but basically coddling and like to a fault. You know, it's like I don't have an example of this, but like you know sometimes you need that tough love. You it's it's tough love. You just need the truth. You know, like you need to. Don't don't let anybody make you a victim. Don't let anybody make an excuse for you. Don't let anybody encourage you to make excuses. Don't let anybody to make you think negatively about yourself, and that's a really dangerous place to be. So you need to look around and see like is anybody encouraging encouraging me to make excuses? You know, it's like oh it's okay whatever. Does anybody encourage you to to to think negatively and? Like when we were in, I had therapists who encouraged me to think negatively. I mean, who were negative themselves, but like, it's just, you need to think differently. I think at the end of the day, that's the message is like, you need to think differently than the majority of people out there, the majority of healers out there, the majority of therapists, the majority of whatever, you know, still there are a lot of great therapists. I do want to say that, but you have to think differently. You have to think independently. And that's a hard thing for a lot of people to do. Because you're brought up in this world where you don't really need to think independently at all. So trust yourself and don't let anybody really get inside your mind in that negative way because it can do so much damage. And you know, we see the results of that damage every single day in people. And unfortunately, we can't get through to everybody. We'd love to get through to everybody who. Who has all these false beliefs. But, you know, like Kayleen said, like, if there are some people on this world that are just so stuck in that negative mindset that if we spent 24 hours a day, you know, for as long as it took, we still wouldn't reach them, or it would be so much effort that, you know, it just wouldn't be worth it.
So, so on that note, on that note, uh, we Love being here. We love speaking with you. We love having you. And while we're trying to make ourselves obsolete and do the best we can to do that, what we want to do is put the power in your hands. And now we're doing kind of a little experiment because, you know, when we started this journey, we gave most of everything away for free. And every time we gave away a resource for free, People would say, oh great, thank you so much, and then not take action on it. And we're doing something really, really powerful. And what we're doing is we're going to give away a free trial of Broken to Unbreakable. So that's my PTSD and CPTSD recovery program, and it's a 14-day trial. You get access to the first level and the half of the second level, and there is plenty to do for 14 days. There's a lot of action to take. This This is the program that gets people from feeling broken or rock bottom or just a plateau in their recovery to full recovery and beyond. This is that program. This is the program that I talk about briefly at the beginning of every single episode. This is the thing that gets results. Anytime you hear me share about, you know, this person fully recovered or this person did this, that it's from that program. They're working with me in that program. So it's called Broken to Unbreakable. We're doing a 14-day free trial, no credit card or anything like that. And I'm challenging you right now, if you're going to do this free trial, I really want you to want it. I want you to go in and I want you to challenge our belief that, you know, when we give a resource away for free, a lot of people don't use it and a lot of people say, okay, thanks, and then they, they put it to the side. And we can see how much work that you do in the program. We can see it on the back end. But I want to challenge you to go in there and make us wrong and go in there and do the work and take action on every single thing that I tell you to do in the program, 'cause it will change your life. Now, it's just a snippet of the entire program, but that snippet alone can change your life in dramatic ways, but you have to take action. So what you can do is you can go to brokentounbreakable.com/, what is it, /trial. So go to brokentounbreakable.com/trial, and you can sign up for a 14-day free trial. Like I said, there's no credit card or anything required. and you can go in and take action. And I challenge you to take action. Literally do the work and you will see results. It's super, super exciting. And, you know, we were super excited to share it. But, but make this wrong, you know, a lot of times we give away a resource, we give away a worksheet, we, we do a training, and people say, great, thank you so much, and then don't take action. You know, I'll teach a tool and the 1% will take action. One, like, one out of Honestly, 100 people, honestly, will take action. And it is, it is so sad because it is the most powerful information on the planet, okay? And so you have access to this for free. So I want you to go and check that out. Go to brokentounbreakable.com/trial. If you're already in the program, keep rocking and rolling, keep up the great work. But if you're, if you're gonna do this free trial, please, please, please take action. I'm like literally begging you to take action because I, I want to prove us wrong and I want to prove you know, the world wrong that, you know, when we give and when we kind of put things out there like this, you see the value and you take the time to do the work because that's what we're here to do. We're here to give, we're here to love, we're here to show you the way. And this is part of how we're doing that. So I challenge you to take action.
Yeah. And this is the full, not the full program, but this is the same program that our paying clients get. So you get I believe it's actually 15 modules, over 13 hours of content. You get all the worksheets, you get all the slides, you get all the action items, all the resources. Like, it's kind of ridiculous. And I was like, before this episode, I was like, you know, maybe we shouldn't do this because this used to be reserved just to—
Mm-hmm.
I mean, we talked about this before the episode. We're like, okay, we'll do this free trial thing as a special thing for everything that's going on in the world today. A lot of people are stuck at home. We want to help. And this used to be reserved for just the clients' friends and family. And because of everything that's going on in the world, we want to extend that to you. But we were going back and forth before this and we're like, well, will people actually do it? Will people actually get results? Because— You know, most people don't do the work. You know, it's like a strange thing. You give some— you give somebody like all these resources for free and they don't do it. Literally, literally, I think 99% of the people who have signed up for this free trial don't finish it.
Right. And I think the, the, what was weird from our perspective, just to share a little bit about from kind of like our shoes is, you know, a lot of people reach out to us every single day and say, please give me something, you know, please give me something for free. We're like, okay, here. And then they don't take action on it. Okay. And so honestly, a lot of times people come— I don't want to use the word begging, but come asking for free content or for more content or for a piece of the program or anything like that. And so that's exactly what we're doing. You know, we're, we're doing it. And please prove us wrong, you know, and, and, and be the person that takes action because this is your life and you deserve it. And, you know, we're really firm on this because you deserve it. You deserve healing. If you take action on this program, it will serve you even in this short kind of snippet, this short trial. Like Brad said, it's like— what'd you say, over 13 hours just in that piece of content alone? So like, it's a lot of work. It's plenty of work for 14 days. It is just enough work to kind of keep you going for the 14 days. So use it as a jumpstart. Get in there, take action, do the work, and, and you'll see the results, and, and it'll speak for itself when you get in there. So go to brokendoorunbreakable.com/trial, and we'll put the link below the podcast here. But that's, that's our action for today, right? So I'm trying to make myself obsolete as a coach, and that's, that's what we're trying to do here today is, you know, help me make myself obsolete by taking action and healing yourself. And then you won't ever need the podcast again because you'll heal and And you, you, you know, pass it along to someone else who needs healing. But, uh, from there you won't need us once you heal.
Yeah.
But you're welcome to come back and say, hey. Yeah.
So sign up for that trial, prove us wrong, challenge yourself. If you do one module a day, you'll get through the whole thing, um, within that 14 days, but go to brokenunbreakable.com/trial or go in the link below to sign up. Just email, no credit card.
Easy peasy.
Do it.
Easy peasy. And, uh, in the referral section, if you can, if you're still listening, put podcast so we know you came from the podcast.
Oh yeah, who sent you here or something?
Yeah, it says like who— yeah, well, because it's a friends and family thing, you'll see it. But, um, that's what we have for you all today. Go take action. We love you. We're here for you. We believe in you at the very highest level, which is why we give you the truth, which is why we sometimes give you a little kick in the butt. And I think one final thing I wanted to say, you know, it's easy to kind of pick on therapists just 'cause as a whole, it's a pretty big kind of widely accepted thing to do in regards to mental health. But we're really not meaning to pick on therapists. It's just the easy thing to say. There are so many great, amazing therapists out there. But you are the most important piece of your healing journey. And so we're speaking to you, not so much—
Brad.
Being, being mean to therapists because we love therapists. They're awesome. Yeah, they're awesome.
They've had a huge impact on our life.
Great work. So yeah, that's what we have. Yeah, and we'll see you all soon.
We'll see you guys later.
All right, bye-bye. Bye.
