Something I wanted to share with anybody who is interested. I stumbled across a really interesting example of opportunistic thinking here and, and the kind of thinking that people, business owners, consumers, everybody needs to be thinking about. And I'm going to share my screen in just a moment, but you're going to see what I found and a few different things that came to mind about how to use it. So, so I was on a website and I stumbled across this site here called Candor and this gentleman here, David Chouinard, who is the founder of this company, Kander get paid more salary negotiations for top tech professionals. Right? So if you're in tech and you want to find out if your salary is competitive, you come here. Well, this genius, and I say that legitimately, he created a list of companies that are freezing hiring and doing layoffs. And these are all self reported. So check this out. This, he's using a table called Airtable here. And this is interactive like I can, I can click into here and I can see what's going on. Now what's, what's brilliant about this is that like first of all look, there are 1308 records. Now there's different perspectives or I guess I would say lenses to look at this from. Let's say that right now you need a, you need a job, you've gotten laid off, etc. You want to find out who the hell is hiring and in kind of real time. So people are self reporting here. And so step one, one of the things you can do is you can, you can filter this. So you can add a filter where status equals and let's just say is exactly hiring. And you can see how you can filter this. Now this just created 501 records of companies who are currently hiring. And so an example would be Accenture. Okay, what are they hiring for? Was told that the final stage will be postponed. Okay, they are hiring for high need roles as well. But you can see some basic stuff. You can find their website. It doesn't always have their website, but sometimes it does. And here's another example. Airtable. This is the exact company that is embedding this. Airtable is hiring. And you can see, you can click this, you can go to their careers, right? So that's one way to find out if you're hiring. But here's what else I found really interesting about this. This is also a way if you're not just an employee, but maybe you're a business owner, you're a vendor, you're a consultant, et cetera, you can Also utilize this to find out who's expanding right now. Like a lot of people are pulling way back. In fact, let's look at the number of layoffs versus the number of hires. Okay, there's only 103 companies are laying off versus the companies who are hiring was 503. Let's add everybody who's not hiring and let's see. Whoops, that is, has any of those 803. All right, so what we're seeing here is that 500 companies are out of this, 1300 are hiring and only 800 are even freezing offers rescinded or layoffs. Now this is a very small sample, but it's a pretty decent sample size of self reported companies or actually user reported companies. But opportunistically thinking, how else would we use this? Okay, so if we just look at the companies who are hiring, these are companies who are expanding. Now if they're expanding their workforce, perhaps they're expanding some of their capital expenditures in other ways. And if you serve some of these companies, maybe this is a fantastic way to reach out to them. If you're a consultant. I'm a consultant, I work with companies big and small. And for instance, this might be a great way to go. All right? These people are committed to spending money, there is demand and they are capitalizing on this. So here are 534 records of companies like I may not reach out to Amazon, but I might reach out to somebody else to just give me an idea and get the brain turning. Because I know that one of the things that I've really been thinking about is in this market where is money being spent? Who is, you know, where is the money moving? Because I see a lot of freezing, you know, deer and headlights. But where is the money moving? Well, this will show you, you know, what are some of the industries that are moving around now at the same time, if we change this and we say let's just go and look at the people who are, who are retracting and who are shrinking. Here's 300 records of companies who are either going through. Let's just look at layoffs. Whoops, scroll down too far. Let's look at layoffs. Not even offers rescinded, just layoffs. Okay, we have 206 companies that are laying people off. These companies are. Well, this is telling me two things. I don't, I can't totally judge, but because data is not always reliable as we're always, as we're also seeing in the media. But this tells me that cut companies are scrambling and cutting costs quickly. They're at least making moves and they're making moves to cut cost. Now, that might be because they are just responsibly thinking like we need to, we need to save ourselves. But there could be companies that are going down in a big, in a big way, unfortunately. And although that is not a. Actually, you know what? I think I need to blow this back up for you guys. And although this is not an ideal situation to think, you know, you know, to think about, it can show you that there are some companies that you might be able to do deals with. You might be able to make offers to acquire. You might be able to find out if they have assets that you can utilize. You might be able to partner with some companies. But in times of dramatic pullback, etcetera, you, there are, there are opportunities out there. Now, these companies who are in a freeze. Let's just look at this. Who has exactly freeze. And you know what? Let me do this for you folks. I'm sure somebody wants to see how to get there. You can, you can also go and look at this on this website. I should have put this banner up there a long time ago. I apologize to you fine folks. That being said, these, these companies are maybe in strategy mode. They're trying to figure it out. They don't know really what's going on. And you know, if you're a consultant, perhaps this is an opportunity to reach out and offer to help them figure it out because they haven't quite cut things back. But once more, if you're also looking for a job, this is a great place to go. Come here, find hiring. And you can see real quick. You know, here's a bunch of them. Canva is hiring. Let's just take a look at that. I'm familiar with Canva. Click on this. You go to their tools or their. I think this is probably careers. I don't know. It's the first time I've looked at this feature. Jobs. All right, cool. You can see things are going on here. Anyway, hopefully this is useful for you guys. I just found it and I thought I would share with you because things like this can make a big difference in the lives of folks. But, you know, actually, let me, let me go back to. In the beginning, I was saying what I. One of the things I thought was super cool about this is this company here, you know, they, they work with people who are trying to get jobs. And what they did is they created a really useful tool for other folks to use which will like I, I stumbled across this. I'm sharing it with you now. That brings attention to them. This is an amazing way to, to virally share or create viral content that can really bring attention to your company. So maybe another thing to think about for your business is how do you create a resource that can be used for people that he's given this away. There's no opt in. There's nothing to subscribe for. It's just a useful tool and it's already given him the attention of me. And then I've decided to share it with you folks. So I don't know if you guys have any questions. There is a comment coming in. Let's see who this is from. Carlos Rodriguez. Yes, it is true. I am Brad Ass. Very, very perceptive of you, my friend. But anyway guys, hopefully this is helpful. Share this video if you think other folks could use it and I'll be. I believe I'll be going live a little bit later today with a special interview if can make that confirmed. But I will see you guys back on here. Talk soon. Leave a comment if you have any questions.
