RETA Review: Real Estate Trend Alert for Buying International Real Estate Investments

If you would have told me a year ago that my wife and I would be sitting in a brand new home in Lagos, Portugal, which we now own thanks to Real Estate Trend Alert, I would have said you were crazy. Hi, I'm Brad Costanzo, this is my wife Kenny and we are here for the first time visiting our new brand new 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo here in Lagos. This is a country we've never visited before, even on any of our travels. I was fortunate enough to meet Ronan and discover a Real Estate Trend Alert back up just over a year ago and we had been looking at doing some international real estate investments and Ronan said, you're in San Diego now. This is where we live. You would love the Algarve in Portugal. The Algarve is the place where Lagos is located. It's kind of the Southern California of Europe. And neither one of us had ever bought property overseas before. And this was a big, this was a big jump for us and it was quite nerve wracking thinking, okay, we're going to commit to a, to a property in a foreign country that neither of us had ever visited even because it looks like a good investment, but it also looks like a place where we might want to spend time. Well, we've been here for about a week now in Kenya. What do you think of Lagos and our new home?

I love it, I love it. I'm very happy. I was a little, you know, scared about getting here and maybe not even having an apartment that we never seen it. But we're very happy. We love our property and we love. Lagos is beautiful. Beautiful.

Yeah. And I stumbled across Rita Real Estate Trend Alert. Really by accident. I had started to look in other places. Some friends of us told us to look in Tulum. We went down to Tulum. We were scoping it out, looking at some properties and then at the same time I had googled like best places to buy international real estate and I came across a, an article on internationalliving.com I read through it. It talked about the Mayan Riviera, it talked about Portugal, a place that I'd never even considered. And then the next thing I know is I noticed that International Living had this program called Real Estate Trend Alert which if you're watching this, you may be familiar that it's a paid subscription newsletter and access to Deal flow that Ronan and the team puts together and allows people like us to take away a lot of the confusion and a lot of the due diligence needed in finding places that you might want to invest in overseas. And that was really our. Our goal was to have something that we wanted to. We wanted to buy in order to generate income as an investment, first of all, but also a place that we'd want to go visit and then potentially maybe live there someday full time, part time, etc. And that's really what this kind of ticked all the boxes. Now, the process of, okay, what happens once you find something and you say yes and you commit? I'll tell you our experience. So it was. It was fairly easy once we found the, you know, once Ronan and the team found the place for us, we submitted a reservation fee. They put us in contact with Chris White and the team over at Ideal Homes Portugal, which is the brokerage and the developer. The brokerage for the developer that we're in right now. And the process was fairly smooth. I'm not going to lie. It took a little longer than it would in the United States. And it was a little bit more paperwork, a little bit more waiting, but that was okay. It still went very smooth. And we felt taken care of every step of the way by both RETA and Ideal Homes. How long did it take from when we decided, yes, we want this, until we actually closed?

That was five months, maybe.

Yeah, about five months. We closed last November. It's currently the middle of July. We've already had renters. We were probably the third person to stay in our place. And we just couldn't be happier with the entire experience. And the only thing now is they say that I don't have any tattoos, but they say tattoos are addictive. You get one, you want another one. Yes. And that kind of feels like this, where now we're like Ronin. Where. Where's the next deal coming up?

Exactly.

And I really. I just really want to thank you, Ronan, for the service that you guys have put together. Portugal has been an absolutely amazing place. I almost don't want more people to know about it because it's magical. But the more people that know about it, the more people that can come here and rent our place. That's about, really all I wanted to say, but thank you so much to everybody. If you're. I wouldn't say there's very little to worry about in that aspect.
