Hey, closed one community. I had a LinkedIn post go pretty viral. I got 168,000 impressions. Almost a thousand people engaged with it or over and 12 people reposted. And it was all around my number one cold call opener that I used throughout 2024. The number one thing I saw in the comments were folks asking for me to actually do it and say it out loud so they could hear my voice, inflection, tone, tempo, etc. As they try to emulate it. In 2025, I'll try to role play out both sides and do my very best with it. Ring, ring, ring. Hello? Hey Brian, this is him. Hey Brian, this is Kevin calling over from Gong. I'll be honest, this is a cold call, but it's extremely well researched and I'm very confident it's worth your time. Is it cool if I share why I called you specifically? Pause. So a couple keys here. Hopefully you saw it come through. I didn't speed up this video recording, but you need to share it slow and speak very, very clearly through the phone. You need to believe in what you're saying. You need to believe that it's well researched, that you have a couple good bullet points ready to share and inflect that in your voice. And then you also need to be able to deliver if you sent a prior email with like a good observation and follow some like email frameworks, you, you could pull that up on the fly and that could be the pitch that you go into. But you do need to deliver on it. If you're going to say it's well researched. You can't fall flat. It works really well for a couple different reasons. Number one, it's a pattern interrupt. Nobody's really setting the bar that high for themselves. And like using that exact same one, they might do a version of like asking for 27 or 30 seconds. But they're not saying like, hey, this is extremely well researched. Like hey, this is worth your time. That goes into number two as well. Like you need the conviction behind it. That is both well researched and worth their time. And then number three, it's an interest speaker. I think naturally, like when you come in and you deliver on a crisp like permission based opener like that, they're going to be curious. They're like, hey, can this kid actually deliver? Like what's he about to say? Or is this just like spam? Is this like just like all the other cold calls that I receive on a daily or weekly basis? Hopefully you're a fan. Let me know in the comments. If you have any other like iteration. I heard a couple people in my own LinkedIn comments saying to replace that I'll be honest with like I'll be direct or I'll be candid. I think that's a really good substitution as well. But I think at the end of the day it's important to note that all these permission based openers, they can all work. It's really just about like your style and your preference. It's even more so about how you say it and like the conviction and the tone and the tempo behind it. Hopefully that's helpful. And let me know in the comments what you find useful.
