Brian LaManna rates six common sales sayings: Always be closing, People buy from people, Sell the sizzle not the steak, The customer is always right, Under promise and over deliver, and Features tell but benefits sell. He'd retire 'the customer is always right' and finds 'Always be closing' cringey but useful as a nudge to keep moving deals forward.

We're gonna play a quick game. I'm gonna say six different sales sayings and you get either 1 retire it forever or 2 use it as advice with a new co worker. Number one on the cringe fest ABC Always be closing. People buy from people. Number three Sell the sizzle, not the steak. Number four the customer is always right. Number five under promise and over deliver. And number six Features tell but benefits sell. The one I'd retire is actually the customer is always right. I do not believe the customer is always right. I believe it's our job as sellers to help guide them and show them the process from start to finish. While it's super cringy and I'd rather never hear it, ABC Always be closing. That is advice I would give to a new seller only in the fact that you can never assume that a deal is actually done through the end of it. You need to be talking through things like implementation. You still need to be driving towards next steps even when they're a customer and you're continually selling the value and continuing to run things like discovery and you can never take it for granted. Curious to hear from you all. What's one that I didn't mention as part of the six that you either absolutely love or maybe hate?
