How to Lock Down Next Sales Meeting(s) - Plural

Brian LaManna says lock down multiple meetings at once, not just the next one. After a group demo, schedule a 15-minute regroup the same day or next day so stakeholders can debrief. For pilots, map out the whole sequence of milestone calls upfront so you stop chasing meetings later.

The good way of doing things is to always lock down the next meeting, but there's actually an even better way that you can be doing things as well. Why not lock down the next meetings, plural? Here's a couple of examples of scenarios and when I look to actually enact that and not just lock down the next one, but multiple ones in the process. The first is when I'm coming up on something like a group presentation, there's an important group demo. What typically happens during the demo is there's multiple stakeholders, time runs long, there's lots of questions, and then they leave the call saying, hey, we need to internally sync and debrief on this. It's easy to leave that next call without a next step. So before you even schedule that group demo, ask your champion for two meetings and say, hey, let's not only schedule that group demo, but let's find 15 minutes that afternoon or the next day to regroup after the teams have the chance to internally sync. And I'll share a couple of ideas in terms of how we can drive this forward in terms of next steps. Another scenario I look to enact booking multiple next meetings is during pilots or proof of concepts, right? If you have a process in place where maybe you do something like a call for success criteria, a training for the reps, a check in call, presenting the business insights at the end, why not schedule all four of them from the onset? Then you never have to to worry about chasing down another next meeting. Again, always look for ways to do things that are even better than just good. Try this out the next time you have either of those scenarios or look for a new scenario as well.
