Using AI to Fill out CRM Fields (Sales methodology example)

Brian LaManna shows how to use Claude to extract sales data from call transcripts and auto-fill CRM fields. He pastes Gong or Zoom transcripts into a Claude project, trains it on a MEDDIC framework PDF, and uses a custom prompt to pull out metrics, revenue figures, team size, and competition details. The whole setup costs about $20 a month.

What is up GONG community? Super excited today to highlight how I can use a call transcript or a call I was a part of or not and use AI to break out notes according to a sales methodology, a framework, or even maybe something our team is asking for us to input into CRM. So if you're using GONG today, just go into this Conversations page in the search bar. You can just find the most recent call. Keep in mind, if you're using another platform like a Chorus or anything else you can, you should be able to access it. The clicks might just be a little bit different or might be in a different spot. You can also manually record a call on Zoom or Google Meet. But what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to go to the transcript and you're going to want to hit copy all. So you're taking that entire transcript. Now what you do with it is you go to your Claude project. In my example, this one in the top left. What I'm going to do is I'm just going to do Command V which is paste. I'm going to enter it in. Now I'm going to let Claude do the hard work for me. So we'll see what the output it gives here. Unbelievable. So instead of me worrying about filling out the seven different Salesforce fields or CRM fields, I can now copy Paste. You can hit copy here as well. Put that in. It's going to be really, really a great time saver for you all to be more efficient and productive versus having to worry about taking notes in the first place or kind of remembering back. This also just helped like jog my memory along the way of like the different areas I'm strong in, that I'm weak in and things that I might need to influence along the rest of the sales cycle. Now how I actually did this is I went into Claude and I started a new project. You will need the paid version for it. I think it's like 20 bucks a month. It's 100% worth it. You can cancel at any time. No, I'm not sponsored by cloud or anthropic. And then what you can do here is you can input in different content to train it off that methodology or what you're hoping to be able to extract from that conversation. So I found a good PDF just on Google from another company that had a 17 page guide around Medic in this example that I basically trained it on. I also gave it some very specific instructions here that I typed out under each piece for like metrics focusing on like quantifiable data points, keeping it to four to five maximum, noting revenue figures, team size. Because that was specific to me. I will share this prompt as well in the in this YouTube video in the info section that you can copy and paste. But I think it's really powerful when you start to start to train it and like change it for what's most important in your organization and your sales cycles. As an example, in ours, like the competition piece and contract dates is really critical as a lot of orgs are consolidating. So like giving it that information so it knows exactly what to look for that the stronger the prompt is, the stronger the output is. Hope this was helpful and follow along for more tips on how to use AI in tech sales.
