A short YouTube demo by Brian LaManna showing how to use Claude (an AI assistant) to perform rapid, detailed account research: type a company name (example: Datadog) and Claude outputs organization breakdown, strategic priorities, challenges, revenue trends, competitors, and focal areas. The video explains creating a reusable Claude "project" (custom prompt) for repeatable account research and recommends iterating on the shared prompt.

What is up close? One community. I'm going to show how within Claude you can just type in a company name and it's going to provide you a very comprehensive, detailed account research. So as an example, let's use datadog as a company. I'm going to just search only their name and now it's going to break out their org. Explain it to me like I'm 10. Their strategic priorities, major challenges, recent revenue trends, competitors, where they lead, where they lag, as well as different focal areas. This took about 10 seconds, maybe less. So let's peel back the onion now, in terms of how we're actually able to generate all this information within Claude, you can do what's called creating a project. Think of this like a custom GPT prompt where you want to use and keep organized for repetitive tasks like account research. So I created a project within Claude. This does require the paid plan. It's like 20 bucks a month. It's 100% worth it. No, I'm not sponsored or have any affiliation with cloud or anthropic. Within that project you can add content or you can give it specific instructions. So I took probably about 10 or 15 minutes and a lot of iteration to be able to write out this prompt and have it look for things like top priorities, major challenges, revenue trends, initiatives, tech infrastructure, competitors, all that fun stuff. And then now once you have that ironed out, all you do is you type in the company name like Google Datadog Gong, you name it and then it'll give you that output. From there you can go back, edit the prompt, make some adjustments. Here's what I'd recommend. I'm going to leave you the exact prompt in the info section in this YouTube video. I would use it as a starting point, but customize it to your business and the types of details you look for when prospecting an account or deciding if if it's your top account or if it's a bad account, you can get ultra specific. Just like with anything AI, talk to it like it's 10 years old, give it a go and iterate over time. Hope that was helpful.
