You'll NEVER make a bad Landing Page again after watching THIS

A landing page critique for a tanning-drink supplement reveals how to fix the hero section, replace weak product images with before-and-afters, consolidate social proof, and explain the 7-14 day timeline. Trust signals like the 30-day guarantee and free shipping should repeat throughout, while bundle options and FAQ addressing safety concerns boost conversions.

You have this design over here on desktop with these 3 different bullet points, and then on mobile we're not seeing them straight away. So that's the first thing that I can see, because those 3 bullet points are pretty important because they just kind of give you a quick overview. But the 3 bullet points themselves, I'd argue that these are not really that strong information because with copywriting, like in the hero section, your headline should be the bold promise. So you're giving them a bold promise. You're saying get a real tan without ever seeing the sun. And then your subheadline is really explaining like the mechanism that it does to achieve that. Now you kind of have that here. So active ingredients like beta-carotene and L-thyrosine clinically proven, clinically proven to, proven to boost natural pigment production. So a little typo there. I would say that could be a little bit tweaked. I like the fact you're calling out the ingredients. That's good. But I would make the rest of it stronger to basically reiterate how it's actually giving people this end result. And then these 3 bullet points down here should just give a very simple glimpse of this copy. So when they, when they see the headline, they should, by reading these 3 bullet points, kind of understand the proof behind this. That's kind of the whole goal. Now, the product image itself, I don't think is that strong. Just, yeah, it's good that showing the product is good, that showing the device, the mechanism, but where is it showing the end result, the desired, like the tan? You know, if you, if you saw the example that we had on the call, it was literally for a tanning pill product. We had a photo of the guy holding the product and with the tan. So it's instantly more credible, instantly more believable. The one good thing I would say about your section is at least it's colorful, at least it's, you know, captivating. So it's not bad. Like you have the proven elements, at least the button is above the fold. At least you have some social proof in here as well. but I'm just saying it's, again, it's like that last 30% to make it really, really good. You have reviews down here, but they're in a horizontal format. I would never do this because they get, they just get so much less engagement. And look at it, like, look at, look at me swiping through this. It's like really laggy. It's slow. It's slow. It's clunky. So just pick out one really strong review and put it under here. You know, maybe it's this, like, finally you don't have to look at ghosts anymore. 6 weeks of one sip daily. And my skin actually has life to it. So natural. So maybe that. And maybe instead of just having this image over here, we bring in one of these before and afters and put it actually behind here. So again, that's going to make it a lot more stronger. And then the quote goes underneath, or you just replace the subheading with the quote and we have the before and after down here. That's what I'd say. And then somehow you're going to have to weave in the mechanism into that as well. Or maybe you put like a little small subheading on top of it and say, you know, beta-carotene L-thyrosine SunSip drop or something like that. So there's other ways to kind of get around it is what I'm trying to say. These photos, you should have the before and after on it and they should be bigger. Instead of having a collage, it should be bigger. We want to actually see the different results here. So that's the next thing. This photo down here, these two people, they just look a little bit too similar. So from a glance, I actually thought they were the same person. And there's something about her skin being really oily that to me, I just don't perceive that as being a positive thing. So I would either try and replace her, like these ones look way better. I'm sure you can agree with that. This one also looks oily. So that's going to maybe put a concern in the customer's mind, like, okay, is the result of this mean I'm going to get oily skin? So I just, yeah, that's what I'd say. We also have 97,000+ women over here and then we got 15,000 reviews. So I would stick to one form of social proof. So if you got 97,000 women, that's a lot stronger than 15,000. So you could say join 15,000 women with glowing results or something like that. Who is it made for? We just got a long list here. You know, is this really important, this section as well? Like, do we actually need to explain this information to people? I think it's more important to go from this into the before and afters, which is kind of what you've done. And then into how it actually works, the unique mechanism of how it actually works, and really explain that to people. I think you've got some text cutting off there. This is better. This image I think would probably be best suited to go in between these sections and show people actually how to actually consume it. Or maybe you can put this in the hero section behind the product, or use one of the before and after photos. Have you got any like examples of it? Uh, yeah, go to So again, I'm not totally sold that this is important information to give to people. Like, at the end of the day, they just want to get a good tan, right? Without having to go through all the different things. So, you know, it'd be more powerful— you've explained how it works, you've explained some of the results, so they got a little bit credibility. Then I think what you should have done here is just hammer home why this is better than alternatives. Why is it better than actually going into the sun itself? Why is it better than consuming pills? Which which is like the landing page I'm working on. Why is it better than— and it's better than consuming pills. I can tell you why it's better, because it's more effortless and it's less messy or less, well, maybe not less messy, but for people who don't enjoy swallowing pills, this is the product for you. It's more natural. It's higher absorption. It literally goes right into your digestion system. And that's obviously something you should have explained here as well. How does that actually get absorbed? How do these things get absorbed in get transferred to the skin and how does that mechanism work? Like really explain how it works and why it's natural and why there's nothing to be scared of this and why it's better than going into the sun where you're literally just frying your skin and you could potentially get other negative side effects from doing that. So that's what I would use that section for. Then we've got this, how to use it. This, I wouldn't explain this. I think it's very obvious and very easy for people, but you know what you could have done just in a very simple thing? You could just— maybe this is just like a 2-image section. You just put like 1 drop, which is going to be perfectly dosed inside your drink, and then you consume it. This is maybe where you can explain how it goes to your skin. This is where you can maybe explain the unique mechanism of how it actually works. So you're not just telling people how to actually drink the drink. You're explaining, you just put in this little drop, it's pre-measured, it's perfect dose every single time, it tastes amazing. All you have to do is drink it. It's part of your effortless routine and here's how it actually works to get to your skin. Cool. This is good, but I would show the results to show the actual glow. It's, and there's a lot of copy going on here. So there's way too much copy. So we have why is sunsick better? But again, I think there's a more powerful way that you can show this by putting it up here. Why is it better than going into the sun? Why is it better than taking pills. Why is it better than other return tips? We have the carousel here again. You can just, just look at it. Look at how laggy this thing is. You know, it's just really uninviting for anyone to scroll through this. I know I'm sounding really harsh, but I'm just showing you, like, I used to do carousels like this, and I actually saw from heatmaps that they get so poor engagement, it's ridiculous. So I would literally just stack them. You don't need to stack 50 reviews. Pick out 3 really, really powerful ones that handle top objections. So maybe one of them is like this, which is pretty good. You could even say, you could have a little headline up here, why it's better than spray tans, why one user said it's better than spray tans. And then just pick out another review. It's great for not having the mess. And then another one, just talks about the healthy aspect of it. And I'd also make the images a lot better since it's a visual product. They're getting sold on the results, right? These things, yeah, I've never been a total fan of them. I know people love putting them on landing pages, right? But I've just never been a fan. I don't really know what they're meant to do. I don't understand what the purpose of these things are. I'm not just saying it for your page. I'm saying for pages in general. Maybe one video. Would be great. What about if we just did a collage? Like we got all of these videos together, we cut them up together, and we showed actually people, different people using them and getting amazing results. So we actually made it less effortless for, or made it, sorry, more effortless for people to actually see what we're trying to say here. And then have a, have a more purposeful video asset here. You know, like what are we actually trying to do in this section? Is this social proof? If it's social proof, maybe it'd be better just to show a massive collage of everyone using the product and instead of these like random videos, or if it's trying to educate people on how the different people are consuming them, then we can maybe do a better job. But like I said, combining the video over here, this is probably a missed opportunity. You could put the benefits in this image around here, around the product to kind of make it fill up the space a little bit more. Just checking these again. The page speed of some of these elements is really slow. This would be something that I would look at. Why is it so slow to interact with these, with everything? Just seems like it's, look how long it's taking for the pages to, the elements to like load in here. And this is friction. This is all friction. This is all gonna add up. You know, compare it to, let's go to Ro Nutrition. I know I show these guys a lot. Are probably sick of me showing them, but you know, you show what works, I guess. I mean, if they've got great results— look how fast this is in comparison. Everything's just so smooth. You know, I click here, everything's instant, instant feedback. This is— look, I mean, look at the difference. It's just these micro things, by the way. I know it's hard when you're designing a landing page to spot these things. And when we used to do landing pages, until we actually formalized this process of of like, okay, how do we make things faster? How do we make things smooth? You know, we kind of miss them. So, and these really do stack up. That's why, you know, when people get like a landing page from us in some ways and it works, it can be like a black box explaining to people why it works. You know, and that's why I struggle sometimes with even telling my own team what makes a good design and what makes a bad design, because it's not just your copywriting, your offer, and the UX/UI, it's also the environment, it's also the theme that you use, it's also how fast everything feels and all of the micro stuff that we talked about in between. So yeah, it's these little things, by the way, it just takes a little bit of time and practice to get it. But overall, at least you got the basics down. You've done the basics that majority of brands do not have. The majority brands don't even have any text in their product listing photos. So the product listing photos don't do anything. At least you're giving people a little bit of education here. Like, this review is pretty good. Just slap on a before and after. And this one actually looks great. Like, this result looks so much more genuine than some of the other examples you've done before. So I would lead with this. Put that review also higher up the page, duplicate it somewhere else. Again, change this to the unique mechanism, adding the unique mechanism in here. How does it— once you actually consume it, how does it do this? How does it start glowing in 7 to 14 days and why does it take that long? Why is that a natural way or maybe it sounds too good to be true for some people and say, well, it takes that time for the ingredients, once you use daily, it takes that time for the ingredients to seep through your skin, to affect your skin and to produce these natural results that are very, very healthy and give you that healthy glow, healthy youthful glow. I think youthful is also a good term to weave into this because not only do people want to get a good tan, but I would bet that, that some of your customers in here are of the older range and who want to, you know, look more young. And so that's the only top-level concern I can see by looking at this is that we're seeing a lot of younger people in your photos and your assets. So is that going to alienate people who are, you know, thinking that this product isn't for them. That's just something I would say to check out with your— look at your audience demographic data. Who are your customers? What is their age range? And if you are seeing that it is an older age range, then replace these photos with the older age range. Yeah. So we have free shipping on orders over $70. I think above at the start you said free shipping, right? I think you did. Fast next day. Okay, so fast next day. This is what I mean. Like, I would— this information up here at the very, very start is, is not necessary for people. Like, we need to— they need to be bought into your product first before we're telling them about the 30-day guarantee and the next-day shipping. So that's why I always use these, these bits of information to kind of break down this information up here. I would also— I'm not going to read through these FAQs, but I would structure them in a way where they're handling the the top objections that people have. So imagine people scroll all the way to the bottom. What are the concerns they still have left? Like for example, is this safe? Okay, you have the safe one, right? Are there any side effects? Yeah, that's good. Cool. Yeah, I think some of these are pretty good. Are they FDA approved? That's also something I would put above. If they are FDA approved, I would have that kind of echo in throughout, you know, build up that trust because with anything that's like this, that's consuming, that people are going to consume, like have that as well in here. FDA approved. I would have that kind of be echoing throughout the entire page. That's really important, I think, for people. This is also really important. How long does it last? That's a really important thing to have. And they shouldn't have to go through an FAQ section to realize that it should be— that information should be in here. So it's a 2 millimeter, 2 milliliter dose, right? It's going to last you a 30-day supply. And also missailed, missailed opportunity because you could have a bundle here? What if someone is so bought into this after you, you know, do the changes that we're talking about that they would be willing to buy a 2-pack or 3-month supply and they get a discount upfront? So that's something that maybe you and Jackie could talk about. Why not have bundles in here? And then that helps you explain the 30-day supply. So that gives people a reason to buy more. Cool, man. That's kind of everything I would say just from a high-level glance. I know it's maybe a 15-minute boring video to consume, but hopefully it's given you some value.
