From gambling to galleries. FINALLY an ART MUSEUM is coming to Las Vegas

When I visit a new city, I always make it a point to visit their art museum. That's why I've always thought it was strange that Las Vegas doesn't really have an art museum, but that is finally going to change when Las Vegas welcomes its very own art museum by the end of 2028, thanks to the efforts of Elaine Wynn and interior designer Roger Thomas. At a recent city council meeting, they secured 1.5 acres of land in Symphony Park to build the Las Vegas Museum of Art. The 90,000-square-foot museum will feature 3 exhibition halls, a gift shop, a cafe, and an outdoor promenade, with plans to break ground 2026. The project is expected to cost $150 million with a total campaign goal of $200 million funded by grants, sponsors, and donations. Half of the funding has already been raised, and the museum will partner with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. This exciting development will bring more community to Las Vegas, fulfilling Wynn's vision for a cultural hub in the city she and I both love.
