It never really occurred to me what the dishes at my Airbnb are made out of, but after many Airbnb guests have broken and chipped those dishes, I started to think about it. Dinnerware most commonly is made out of porcelain, which is a type of ceramic. Most people think that porcelain is probably the best combination of price and durability, but I was tired of all the chips and breaks and So there had to be a better way. I did some research and I came across Corelle, and I love these plates. They are practically unbreakable. They are made out of glass. In fact, 3 different layers of compressed glass. Maybe a little bit more expensive than porcelain plates, but check out the difference. One final quick tip: if you have a hot tub or a pool, get yourself some high-quality plastic wine glasses. Wine glasses break so easily, and you don't want that glass in your pool.
