Let's talk about the Vegas Loop, the first of its kind transportation system by The Boring Company. Approved for 68 miles of tunnels with 55 stations, it's designed to cut down on traffic and connect key locations like the Las Vegas Convention Center, Allegiant Stadium, downtown, Harry Reid International Airport, and most major resorts both on and off the Strip. So what's the ride like? Expect a quick, smooth trip in a Tesla Model Y or a Model X, zipping through colorfully lit tunnels at up to 40 miles an hour. The cars have drivers currently, but in the future they will be fully autonomous. The system is designed to be safe during earthquakes, and it is unaffected by traffic or weather. Plus, because the cars are electric, there is no noise or exhaust. Costs will range from $5 to $12 depending on your destination, but right now it's free to ride between the 4 stations at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The only other station currently in operation is at Resorts World, but stay tuned as this futuristic transit system expands. Follow me for more Vegas underground insights.
