If you are only using job boards as your source of getting your next role, you are limiting your options. That's okay. That's how we've been taught to find jobs. I'm going to tell you all the other ways that you can be getting your next interview and your next job. First option is to self-pitch in. Identify 20 companies that you want to work for. Find the potential manager, not the recruitment team, because they don't even know the job is available yet. Pitch yourself in as someone that could fill a gap or someone that could be a future hire. You're literally beating the queue and you're getting in before that company even has to advertise. So They're gonna thank you for that. Hit up agency recruiters. Recruiters want you to call them if you are the candidate they are looking for because it makes their lives a lot easier. Target an agency recruiter that specializes in your area. Don't send them a LinkedIn message. Call them, call the agency, have your 90-second pitch ready to go and ask that recruiter to represent you. Once you get a good recruiter on hand, they're gonna do everything they can to get you that next role because once they place you, they get a commission on that. So it's a win-win. Another really good avenue are Slack channels, not sponsored, but There are specific channels on Slack that you can look up that are hiring for people in your area. You just need to be specific on the area that you're in to be able to access that channel. Stop relying on job boards as your only way to get an interview on a job. Expand your horizons and see the results coming in.
