Construction projects don't blow up in the middle of the project or the start of the project. They always blow up in the last 25% of the project when it's now squeaky bum time, as a famous football manager used to say. That is when your client is running outta money and they're looking for ways that they can save money. When everyone comes and look around and go, which of these subcontractors has not complied with the contract? Can we bring in a closeout team to say we're not gonna pay you for that change? But if you're the type of subcontractor who has started the project, with getting your contract paperwork in place the whole way through, when it comes down to that squeaky bum time, they're actually going to look at you and go, nah, we won't bother with those. When the closeout team comes in, we're going to go after someone else because we know they have all their paperwork in place. So by being contractual or following the contract, or I would say being professional, it actually protects you for that last quarter of the project. Does that make sense?
