Most subcontractors don't lose delay claims because they're wrong or they've done it wrong. They lose because they've missed the paperwork. The contract specifically lays out what needs to happen every single time there's a delay on the project. And subcontractors typically, they don't follow what the instructions in the contract are to do. It's kind of like you've got your engineering drawings that say you need to do this, you need to do this, here's the specification. And subcontractors will follow it to the word, but when it comes to the contract, they just don't follow it. Maybe because it's the legal mumbo jumbo or the way it's written or whatever, but you have to follow. You got to submit your notice within whatever days. You got to follow it up by the change order or the variation or whatever it's called in your country and make sure that it's done properly in a specific way fast. When you do that, then you're going to get paid for all of your delayed.
