Remember, inside of every woman, especially you, is a business waiting to be born. Welcome to the Prosperous Woman Podcast. I'm Claire Sellers, a business mentor and coach who is absolutely obsessed with helping you create the business of your dreams and your most prosperous life. Tune in for inspiring conversations with extraordinary women that will propel you towards becoming The Prosperous Woman. Hello, hello, and welcome to a solo episode of The Prosperous Woman. I am so glad that you're here. I wanted to just drop in with you all today with something that is on my heart and is such a core belief of mine. You've seen this probably all over my marketing and my branding, and I believe it with my whole heart. It's this: inside of every woman is a business waiting to be born. And that's not just some sexy marketing thing that, you know, I came up with. I believe it in my heart of hearts of hearts of hearts of hearts. I've been given the great privilege of witnessing hundreds and hundreds of women step into this very reality over the last almost decade. And that's how I know it's true, because I've seen women go from feeling so downtrodden, for lack of a better word, to feeling so just flat, to feeling like they were just cogs in a machine, clocking in, clocking out, or in very high-powered jobs— lawyers, doctors, financial planners, you name it— to creating businesses that really feel deeply, deeply aligned with their soul's mission. I always say, I always talk about this. I don't know if you guys have heard of the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, but she talks about in there, our dreams are almost like little feathers and they kind of like float to us and we have a finite period of time to say yes to them. And this is really something that has stuck with me for so long. I remember, when I read this book, Big Magic, if you haven't read it, read it. I remember, I'm gonna kind of take you guys back on a little memory lane story here, but I remember, you know, I was living in New York City. I went to college in New York City. So the New York hustle was all I really knew, to be quite honest. And you know, I remember I thought that my purpose was basically to make as much money as possible, make my parents proud and get as high up in whatever company as I could, as quickly as possible. And to be honest, that's what I did. And I was very good at it. You know, I was under 30 and I had a huge team. I was, you know, managing millions and millions of dollars. And there was a part of me that thought, you're doing it, Claire, you made it. And yet I would get home at the end of the day and kind of collapse onto my couch. And I just remember having this repetitive feeling that I couldn't quite put words into at the time. Like, there has to be more. There has to be more. Is this really it? And then, like Elizabeth Gilbert said, I would have these kind of feather thoughts, like, drop into my field. Like, you should start a travel company, or what if you designed an app that helped people you know, connect, like-minded people connect in New York City. Or, you know, what if you, what if you became a therapist? That was something I always thought about. Or what if you went and got your MBA? That makes sense. Go get your MBA. I would have all these little glimmers and then the next morning would roll around, the alarm clock would go off and I was off to the races again, putting out fires, running the team. And I felt so, in a way, accomplished. It, it was like I was getting just enough accomplishment out of my work that it kept me in that cycle. And I have a feeling that a lot of you listening to this are maybe nodding your heads and, and saying, yep, I've been there. And I know I'm not alone in this because so many women, I'm gonna tell you about a few of them, have come to me. I mean, Hundreds of women have come to me with this exact same feeling of, you know, their lives weren't bad, they weren't miserable, they were doing good work, you know, and they were making pretty good money. And yet they just had this thing inside of them that was like, there has to be more. And for some of them it was so clear, they knew, you know, like, I wanna open a travel company. And for some of them, we had to really uncover what it was that their heart was calling them to create. One of my amazing clients, Katie, joined my signature 4-month program, the Dream Accelerator, which I'm gonna tell you a little bit more about at the end of the episode. And, you know, she came to me, she's very high up in the consulting world and has been doing this for years and is, you know, at a company you all would know. And, you know, she came to me, I actually met her on one of my retreats and she hired me after the retreat. And I remember, you know, on the retreat, we had this moment where she just said, "I don't know what my purpose is, but I have to figure it out." And I remember looking at her and it was like we just had this knowing of like, we're gonna do this. And we did. She worked with me one-on-one before the Dream Accelerator, and then she joined the program. And it was so funny because she actually did know. And this is what I find more often than not, is that Clients come to me with the story of, I don't know what my purpose is, I don't know what kind of business I wanna start, I don't know what I wanna do. And then usually in a couple sessions, I can kind of help them get there. And it's been on their heart the whole time. It just might be covered up, wrapped in blanket, you know, bandaged up. But in Katie's case, you know, she actually went to school for fashion and her first job out of college was in fashion and, you know, She enjoyed it, but she didn't see the long-term growth potential and earning potential that she saw in other industries. And so she pivoted, and yet her heart was always calling her back towards fashion and creativity and design. That's what she went to school for. And, you know, she's in her late 30s now. She has 2 kids and she Also has two gorgeous children, boys. And so, you know, and I know this from my nephew, they first of all grow like crazy, and second of all, go through clothes like you wouldn't believe. And so Katie had this idea of like, what if I could create a children's clothing brand that was made from recycled shirts, recycled clothes, so that it was eco-friendly, It was super fashion forward, and it has this story where it's like, I'm wearing something that is not contributing to harming the earth. And like, this idea had actually been in her mind forever, but there was almost a part of her that was afraid to say it. Can you relate to that? Like, maybe as you're hearing Katie's story, there's a part of you that's like, I have that story too. Katie has gone on to work with me, and she's also working with one of my amazing friends, and she is launching Cats and Robbers. We'll link it in the show notes, her incredible eco-forward children's clothing line in February. I'm so excited. She's sharing the behind the scenes of how she has created this brand while in her full-time job. This is just one of, I could literally give you hundreds of examples. So Katie came to me with the story, I don't know what my thing is. Mm-hmm. We peeled back the layers, we knew what it was, and then through the process of the Dream Accelerator, she made it a living, breathing reality. I'm gonna give you two more examples. Sabrina, who is on the podcast, if you haven't listened to her episode, go listen. She, during the pandemic, she's vegan, and during the pandemic she started photographing vegan food and, you know, felt, has always loved photography, but really became an expert photographer. Mm-hmm. She was a drama therapist in New York City, and that was her longtime job. And she had a pension that was, you know, on tap for her to take advantage of. And so she had the story of, I don't really need to do anything because I have to wait for that pension to kick in. I think it was like 4 years or something. And she joined the Dream Accelerator, and within 2 months she was fully booked out with vegan photography client. So she's photographing for some of the top restaurants in town. She was just featured on the news. I mean, she's absolutely blowing up. And within 4 months she left her full-time job. She was like, I can't not, right? So Sabrina came into the Dream Accelerator knowing what her thing was and wanting to build it so that she could kind of build it on the side, which is totally fine. But the dream became bigger than the fear. The dream became bigger than the pension. Robbie, or Dr. Robbie as I call her, is an incredible incredible women's health doctor, and she's also a world traveler. And because of the type of patients that she supports in a very diverse community, she has recognized that so many healthcare professionals don't have the education and knowledge, and they aren't exposed to the types of cultures and traditions that their patients from other cultures, other countries, are so deeply rooted in. And so she has developed a travel company, Modern Traditions, where she is taking healthcare providers all around the world to show them indigenous cultures, to show them how other countries and other medicine women and shamans and healers around the world care for people so that they can incorporate this ancient medicine into modern healthcare. I get chills when I talk about it. Mm-hmm. She came in really clear. This is what I wanna do. I've been wanting to do this for a decade and I've literally done nothing about it and I have to start. So these are just 3 examples, kind of all different sides of the, the coin. You know, Katie came in unsure what she wanted to do. Sabrina came in knowing but thinking it was just gonna kind of be like a side gig. It ended up literally 180ing her life. She's traveling with my other client Anna. They're traveling all over the world right now. Greece, Jordan, Italy, Mexico, taking beautiful travel photography. And then Robbie, who came in after sitting on a dream for almost a decade and she was ready to rock, and she's running her first trip to New Orleans at the end of this year, and it's already almost sold out. So I share these stories because it's one thing for, you know, you all at this point, you've listened to me on the podcast, you probably follow me on Instagram. If you're not, follow me at @itsclairesellers. You guys know my story, and I want you to know that I'm not special. The life that I've created for myself where I work less than 20 hours a week, you know, I really prioritize rest, I prioritize my family, my health, dating. This is not something that is just, oh, I got lucky. I don't really believe in luck. I believe in alignment. And it's— I'm sharing my client stories so that you can hear their testimonies as well. And, you know, they— all these girls are on my either podcast or Instagram. We'll link everything for you so you can go deeper into their stories. It's not luck, it's alignment. And alignment starts truly and honestly by you— two things. One, saying, I want this and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it a reality. Even if I don't know what my thing is yet, I trust that there's a reason I'm feeling this pull, this call for more. this curiosity around my purpose. And then two, you gotta get in the room and you gotta get support. It is almost impossible to do this on your own. None of these girls, and they'll tell you this, none of these girls would have the life that they have or the businesses that they have if they hadn't joined the Dream Accelerator. And they will tell you that because nothing will propel you forward faster than getting in the room and following a proven framework to make your dream a reality. And inside the Dream Accelerator, just to kind of break it down for you, we literally start with clarity. That's module 1. And then we move into creation. So I help you from everything with like, how do we build your brand? What does it look like? What does the website look like? What do I call it? All those nitty-gritty things. And then I help you design your first product and I teach you exactly how to get it out into the world. Your visibility fears are probably gonna kick up big time, and I am there to say, we gotta keep going. I teach you how to launch it, how to sell it. You literally will go from idea to your first sale in 4 months. And I am so passionate about this program because, I mean, it makes me wanna cry. I've seen so many women's lives absolutely changed. I mean, women who were you know, spending so much time away from their families, now all of a sudden, you know, get to be at home and, you know, have slow mornings in bed with their family and their kids. Like women who, you know, would slog their way to work in the morning, freezing cold in New York City, they now get to work from home and travel the world. Women who, you know, had chronic health issues because they were so burned out, now they're healed. Lives are changed. Through this program. And it is a whole woman program.
