Goals

John Cordero explains why action goals beat outcome goals. Writing down a goal raises your odds of achieving it by 42-72%. Instead of aiming to date a model, set a concrete action like talking to five women a day, then track whether you did it, not whether it worked.

Hello and welcome back to another video. Today I want to talk to you guys about goals and why they are very important. They're going to help you fuel to the next level, and I can't stress enough why we need goals in our lives. In my younger wee lad days, I just didn't care for them. I was always the shoot from the hip type of person. And it wasn't until I finally started to see the value in goals that it made me realize that when I shot for something, I actually got somewhere in life. And the same is true for you as well. So something that is very helpful when we go through our journey. So I kind of want to define, because everybody has their own way of goals and it's such a broad term. We understand what it is. You know, in its essence and all. But I do want to break down goals and what I mean about them and how we should use them specifically. So I want to give you guys a stat. For whatever reason, the stat is kind of all over the place, but it's still helpful. So when I researched it, if you write down a goal or you tell a goal to a friend or somebody, you are 42 to 72% more likely to actually achieve the thing that you actually set out for. That is huge. Okay, those numbers are nice because it helps you understand what you're trying to shoot for. It gives it a definitive thing that you can actually try at, and it's just helpful to write down a goal. So I highly encourage you guys, I don't care if it's on the phone, I don't even care if it's like a voice memo or any way that you can do it on your laptop. It doesn't matter to me. Pen and paper, go old school with it. All of that is good. Just write it down. Have a definitive goal in mind because your chances of actually accomplishing something helps a lot. And what we're trying to do is we're trying to help you accomplish getting dates with women, getting phone numbers, you know, and actually getting somewhere with women. So that's super helpful. Um, when I talk about goals It's very, very important that we understand action goals versus outcome goals, because most people, when you ask them what their goals are, they're going to give you outcome goals. And there's nothing wrong with it, but it's just not quite centered in exactly. So like, if I asked a random guy, hey, what's your, what's your goals? And he's like, well, you know, I want to be a millionaire. That's an outcome, right? You know, oh, I want, uh, I want to date a model. Um, that's an outcome. Uh, I want, uh, to be the best, um, you know, best physical shape ever. You know what I'm saying? Again, that's like the outcome, right? So all those are fine and it's nice, but it doesn't help you actually get there. It doesn't show us how we need to get to be a millionaire, to be dating a model, to be, you know, all these other things, right? So it helps when we actually have action goals, because before you know it, if you keep doing actions over and over again, it's actually inevitable that you're going to get to a certain outcome. Certain actions will bring about certain outcomes. So let's say on the fit scenario, your action goal is to go to the gym 3 times a week and you do upper body, you do lower body, and you have a specific day for a specific time. You eat a certain amount of protein and you calorie count to where you're either gaining or losing weight based on your goals. And those are actionable steps. And if you do that for 3 months, 6 months, a year down the road, you're going to achieve the outcome of a fit body, right? So Pretty simple, but at the same time, you'd be surprised how a lot of people will go into the outcome and not really with the action. So specifically for this, I do want you guys to have in mind that, yeah, I want you guys to go on 2, 3 dates, you know, in the next 3 weeks or whatever, uh, which is the outcome. But if you don't take the action, that's where it's at. So the action goals for dating would be attempting to talk to women, following the social flowchart. I'm going to give you guys goals in There. But following the social flow and making your own goals of like, hey, I'm going to talk to 10 women in one day. I'm just going to say hi. I'm just going to start a conversation. That is an action. And when you do that enough times, you're going to get comfortable with that. And then when you get comfortable with that, you can up the goals. Okay, not only am I going to say hi to 10 women, now I'm actually going to call them cute, or I'm going to say they have an interesting look, or I'm going to say they're pretty. I'm going to show intent. That gets you a little bit closer. And it's okay, I did that a couple times. Now, uh, next week, not only am I going to say hi, not only am I going to call her cute or say that she has an interesting look and show intent, I'm also going to ask for her number. Now all of a sudden, those actions that you do stack up, and when those actions stack up, you will get the outcome of the date, you know, and eventually you know, have sex with a woman and eventually spend time with a woman. And, you know, if you want an outcome of a relationship and a marriage down the road, that, that starts to form over time. The outcome is the long-form effect of actions that you take. So specifically, I encourage you guys to take goals and make sure that they may— there are specific actions that you can do there. Another thing to keep in mind is that we get so focused and we react to the outcome even when we're trying to achieve the action. So let's say, uh, my action goal is to talk to 10 women and all 10 of them reject me or whatever. Um, I can get down if I'm thinking about the outcome of them rejecting me and reacting Towards that rejection. But, um, it sounds crazy, but if I make the success the action goal and I talk to 10 women, I'm hyping myself up. And I'm, I'm, I'm true to this. I'm fucking saying this like, and I'm being 100% real, is I'm going to celebrate if I get rejected by 10 women because I set my goal to talk to 10 women and I did it and I had the balls to do it. Regardless of what the outcome was, I'm going to leave proud of myself. And I want you guys to as well. This— that is so huge that we do not focus when we do this stuff and we're talking to people because we can't control what women react, what they say. And 9 times out of 10, you're just going to start out being bad at it and you'll get better and your success rate will increase over time. But in the meantime, in between time, that's why I also don't want you to focus when you're doing these goals in person and when you're taking the action. I don't want you to focus on the outcome. Again, the outcome is going to be inevitable. It will come over time. But just take the action. Just go through and do it and be proud of it. It doesn't matter if you get rejected. If it's talking to 5 women and they They all 5 tell you to fuck off. Be proud of yourself because you actually did the action. And I'm telling you, over time, you're going to get better at it. People that actually keep at it and stay consistent, my students, they do so well and the outcome happens. The numbers start to flow, the dates start to happen, and all of a sudden you're too busy to keep up with who, right? So it's very encouraging and I want you guys to understand Mentally, what to really focus on as a win. So every time I accomplish even just one of the action goals, you know, let's say my goal was to talk to 20 women, and I started off and I talked to one woman. In my head, I'm like, "Yeah, fuck yeah! Let's go." Like I just talked to that that one woman, and I had the balls to do it. It's like, "Let's go to number two," and I will psych myself up. And if you do this enough. You will actually be encouraged to complete the action goals for that day. And that is very huge to beating approach anxiety. It's very huge to define who you are as a person, as a man. And it helps you beat the outcome of, you know, and being reactive. And it helps you define your outcome in the future. Like I said, you keep doing more action goals, and I'm telling you, this will come in time. But don't be discouraged in the meantime if get rejected, or if it doesn't work out, if you have a week, a bad week, or if you have a bad 2 weeks, I'm telling you, it will happen. Just stay in there and make the action the priority. And when that happens, combined with the guidance and the stuff that's in here with the Attraction Method and all the stuff going on, you're going to succeed, man. It's going to happen. I had to make that point because it's very important that we understand that we're gonna look at the action and we're gonna focus on that being our success. And this is what's going to hype us, this is what's going to fuel us and push us to the future. That is what's going to get us to the next level. So my question to you guys today about goals is, what is your goal in the next 2 weeks? Because everybody makes super long goals, like in the next 3 months, in the next 6 months, and they go more on the outcome side. But with action goals, you want 'em to be short because it's right in front of your face. And before you know it, if you keep doing those action goals, you'll look up and you'll be like, oh wow, I'm actually there. You know, I actually did it. You know what I'm saying? So that is super important. So what is your goal in the next 2 weeks? I want you guys to post this in the community to where we can hold you accountable. And I didn't, I didn't share this, but That's for writing goals. But if you actually tell somebody and tell them to keep you accountable, that number even goes up even more. I didn't do the research on it, but yes, accountability is great with goals. And as men, I want us to actually lock down and not just fake it till we make it type stuff. So that is super important of the goals that we're doing this week is what are your goals? And I would love to hear them and I'll try to keep you accountable as I go through. I'm very active on the community and that's what I have for you guys. Thank you. In this video. Set action goals, do the action goals, and the outcome is inevitable. All right, that's all I have for you in this video. See you guys in the next.
