self talk

Your brain defaults to negative self-talk because it evolved to spot threats. You can rewire it by observing your inner critic without believing it, then building a supportive voice through concrete goals, action, and self-reward. Exaggerating negative thoughts until they sound absurd weakens their power.

Welcome back. Alright, let's get into self-talk and why it's important. Self-talk is the internal dialogue you have with yourself throughout the day. The problem is that most of us naturally say far more negative things to ourselves than positive ones. The reason for that is simple. Our brains are wired to scan for threats, which means we instinctively focus on what's wrong, Or what could go wrong. As a result, we often repeat negative thoughts without even realizing it. Changing that pattern doesn't happen overnight. The key thing you need to understand about self-talk is that you have to actively challenge the habit of putting yourself down. One of the best ways to do that is by setting goals and taking action. When you take action, reward yourself for it. When you start making the action the hero instead of the outcome, your perspective begins to shift. The more actions you take, the more evidence you have that you're improving. And that starts to reshape how you talk to yourself day to day, especially when it comes to interacting with women. The main focus here is not identifying with negative self-talk. A lot of guys make the mistake of believing that the negative voice in their head is who they are. You've just been identifying with it for most of your life. What we're going to do is start creating separation between you and that negative voice while strengthening the positive inner voice that actually supports you. So how do we create separation? The first step is simply becoming the observer of the negative voice. The moment you notice that voice showing up in your mind, recognize that you're hearing a thought rather than being the thought. When you catch it in real time, you immediately begin separating your identity from that voice. It's like realizing, okay, I hear this thought coming in, but that doesn't mean it's me. That awareness is powerful. Once you can hear the thought and recognize it as something separate from you, you already created some distance. The next step is understanding that the negative voice itself doesn't define you. Now, if you're new to this, that voice may still feel strong. You've probably been listening to it for years, so it won't just disappear instantly. Separation builds gradually with practice, so I want you to think about some negative self-talk that you've been telling yourself about. It may be along the lines of why you're not good with talking to women. I'm gonna give you some time to think about it, starting now. Now that you've had some time to think about it, I want to ask, how have you been identifying with that self-talk? You have to be aware of what you're telling yourself. It just takes thinking about it, especially right after you fail or freeze up. I kid you not, it's probably more than 90% of what you're telling yourself with being bad with women is bullshit. This is a powerful habit to build. Every time you catch negative self-talk, practice it, observe it, exaggerate it, and separate yourself from it. At first, it won't happen every time, yet the more you practice, the stronger the separation will become. Also, be sure to reinforce yourself with the positive self-talk as well. That's all I have for you guys in this video. See you guys in the next.
