smiling

John Cordero breaks down why smiling matters when approaching women: it reduces intimidation and signals approachability. He describes two styles, a big grin and a subtle smirk, and explains how to practice in the mirror to make sure it reads natural, not creepy. Timing matters too—smile before you approach, nod, and keep smiling through the conversation.

All right guys, welcome back to another video, and today I want to talk about smiling. It really goes hand in hand with giving out good vibes, and it is something that will help you with your interactions with women. It is a must. If you don't smile when you go up to the woman, it is going to set up red flags around her. She's going to be alert because you are a bigger being in person. You are a man that she doesn't know that Outweighs her and is taller than her. And so it is intimidating. Like, if you think about it for a second, if you were a woman and you were surrounded by guys that are taller than you and almost double what you weigh, if not double what you weigh, and have muscle, like extreme amounts of muscle compared to you, that is a scary situation. As men, we have to make sure that we appear very disarming and that we are Approachable. That is a key word, is to be approachable. So when you smile, you will look more confident. Even if you're not sure about something, if you smile and you talk to a woman, then she is going to sense that you might have things under control, even if you don't, because you're appearing like you do. And also, you're approachable. Again, resting stoic faces is not something that you want to do because she is not going to open up. She's really going to question why you're talking to her even more so, and it doesn't set up anything in the positive. Smiling helps that. The types of smiles that you can do— there's really 2 types of smiles, and it is one, the typical big smile where I'm trying to exemplify it. It's like you're smiling really big. Hey, how are you doing today? Like, this is like ear to ear for me. And everybody has their own smile. Smiles are kind of like personalities. Everybody has their own smile. So just take a look in the mirror. You could do a photo if you want and post in the community to see if your, your smile is good or whatever, or if it's creepy or whatever, if that's something that you're worried about. But it does help. Like, I can't help even when I'm talking about smiling, I'm smiling right now because it's so habit for me to do that. So that is one way to smile. Another way, is just to do a smirk, and I love it. This is where I live. I love the smirk. And so with me, like, smiles are my personality. I know I tend to smile to the left side of my face. So like, now you kind of see it a little bit. Like, this is how I smile. You could be saying anything like really basic, you know? It's like, it's like, oh really? So you travel to Europe often? That's insane. I've only been to the Bahamas. You know what I'm saying? So that's the smirk and the smile together. And even though I wasn't saying anything flirty, and even though I wasn't saying anything like, uh, I was— my tone wasn't like super crazy, it was still flirty. It still transcended, it still conveyed intent. And I've gotten to the place now where there's times where I don't even say intent words anymore. I don't say cute, interesting look, or pretty, or any of the other words because I just know how to convey it and I don't need to. So I do it in other ways, with smiling, with my tone, maybe with my touch, and just go from there, or combining all 3 of those. It's super helpful to see what your smile style is like. Smirk is always my fave, and so I will push that, but anything that works for you. So when to smile is be sure to smile before you even go up to her. Because it's going to be weird if you're being mindful of smiling and you're used to not smiling. And let's say you turn the corner at a grocery store or at a club or wherever, and you're not smiling. You see her, lock eyes, and then all of a sudden you're like— you know what I'm saying? Like, it works. It's better than not and staying not smiling. But if you were smiling ahead of time, that's better. And again, it's okay to smile after the fact, after you see her. I'm not saying that's wrong. But if you can, ideally smile before you even get to her, before she even notices you or sees you. That really is the best case scenario. I do— there are times where you will have to smile after seeing her, and that's okay. Maybe you just got done talking to somebody or you were distracted or whatever, and it still lands well if you smile even after seeing her. I don't want to discourage you from that, but that is super huge, is when you see her, just smile and just maybe a head nod, maybe a wave. A slight wave, and that goes such a long way in the greeting, even if it's across the room. And I would periodically just smile throughout the conversation. You don't have to smile every sentence and everything and have this huge grin. Uh, this actually comes into preference on how people talk to women, stuff like that. I tend to do a smirk with flirty lines, so it just makes it hit harder whenever, like, hey, I'm into you, you know what I'm saying? But I don't do that all the time. I don't do that, you know, when I talk about my day-to-day or who am and the things that I like to do on a day-to-day basis. There are times where I'll smile though, you know, she does something silly, I'll smile, different things like that. Just make it natural, guys. It's not rocket science, but it's one of those things that you just have to be mindful to smile. That is the biggest thing. And when you do that in combination with approaching her and talking to her, it's going to make the conversation way better in your favor and just make it set up for positivity, which is what we want. So that's all I have for you guys in this video. See you guys in the next.
