A soccer coach argues student-athletes should build a personal YouTube channel instead of paying for recruiting services like NCSA or SportsRecruits. Coaches want authentic content showing personality, not just polished highlight reels. A YouTube channel with highlights, interviews, and training videos can replace expensive ID camps and speed up scholarship offers.

Should I send my highlight video as a YouTube video? So you guys can have SportsRecruits or ScoutingZone or whatever else. Here's the only problem with those accounts. The college coaches know that those are professional, which is a lovely concept, right? It's nice and organized for you. But it also has a feeling that it wasn't created by the athlete, that it was created by the club or by your parents. And the college coaches want to get to know you as a human. This is why we strongly encourage you only to use YouTube. Now you can still have a SportsRecruits account, ScoutingZone, or NCSA if you want to. But the profile, it's like there's a bunch of information on there that's really not that helpful to the college coaches. An email is sufficient enough to tell about who you are, and the YouTube page itself can tell everything. You can make YouTube Shorts, you can have interviews, you can have training videos. You know, on Sports Recruiting, you don't really do that personal aspect. And so then when they go on it and they go, that was a great highlight video, let me see what else they have. Oh, and every touch video, that was helpful, but I, I still don't really know them as a person. This is why social media is so important. We want them to get to know you as a human so So that way you don't have to go to as many ID camps, so you don't have to go to as many showcases, so you can get recruited earlier, so you can get a scholarship earlier. The more they get to know you as a human as well as a soccer player, the more likely it is they'll recruit you and hopefully make an offer sooner. Hence why YouTube or any other social media platform is really helpful in the recruiting process. If you want more help, give us a call. Links in the bio. Talk to you soon. Goodbye.
