Zev Taublieb explains why college soccer coaches need high-quality video from tournaments like Surf Cup to evaluate recruits. He recommends full-game "every-touch" videos showing a player's involvement, plus optional highlight reels. Coaches can't attend every game, so clear footage is how they assess your true level.
This is the best video you can get for a college coach. Video from a showcase. This is Surf Cup. There is one of many Veo cameras, Trace. I think it might be the best version, but Veo's good too. The reason this footage is so important is because it's possible that the college coach can't come to your game. There's a game over here, there's a game on the far side, there's a game over here, there's lots of soccer games everywhere. But the reason it's important is because as they walk through the field or as they recruit other players in the same bracket, they know what the level is like. And this is the biggest fear of college coaches. They recruit you and they think you're good and you end up not being that good. And they're like, damn it, I should have done more research. I should have found out more about him. Which is why they want you to come to ID camps. If you provide video from a Surf Cup or from a showcase, they go, I know what that level is. I understand it. I know that it's this level and I can recruit a kid from this club. chance of doing well at the college level at my school. And the best way to make video from tournaments is if you played really well in one game, make an every touch video. If you played really well each game, make 3 every touch videos. And then if you want to make a highlight video out of those 3 games, you can do that as well. If you don't have any highlight video and this is kind of your first time, then definitely make a highlight video out of the showcase. But the best thing is they want every touch videos because it really gets to let us know who you are as a person, where highlights is just like an appetizer. Okay, then I want to see more. That's why every touch video is so important, especially showcases like this. If you want more help playing college soccer, drop a call and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
