One question every single person should ask who wants to play college soccer at the D3 level specifically: would I enjoy going to this school if the program went under? That's right, let me explain. I played soccer at the University of Puget Sound. I had a miserable experience. It was D3 and the program did not go under, but this was what happened to me. I spoke to the assistant coach for most of my recruiting journey when the head coach was the one who was going to decide if I played or not. So I really wasn't hearing from someone who actually wanted me. Although my program, it didn't go under, I didn't get a lot of playing time and I didn't actually enjoy it. So don't make the mistake I did, which is just selecting a school for soccer. If you actually saw the program went under, would you still want to go to that school? Does it have the major you want? Is it the location you want? All that kind of stuff seems simple, but these are key questions you have to ask during your recruiting journey. That's to a coach, assistant coach. How long are you planning to stay here? Now, they might not give you an honest answer. They might say forever, but they're probably not going to if they're a good person. And you can tell based off the way they answer it, not just what they say. Book a call with the link in the bio so you can find the right school that you'd actually enjoy going to.
