If you are going into your junior year, what do you need to do in order to play college soccer? Let's find out from this guy right here. Tell me your name, big guy. I'm Diego Ruiz. And, uh, Diego, is it true that you just came up to me, uh, randomly and you saw me in the street? Yes, I did. And, uh, right now, what is your GPA? Uh, 3.8. And you go to Loyola High School? Yes, I do. And right now you're looking to maybe make the jump into ECNL RL, is that true? That's awesome. Can I give you a piece of advice? Yes, please. So this legend right here is tall, which is awesome, and college coaches, that can make you stand out. He's taller than me and I still played college soccer, so you don't have to be tall. But I asked him a couple questions and here's what he needs to know. First of all, he needs to get his video sorted and started. He is working on playing Easton RL, which is awesome. The next piece he needs to talk about to himself is what type of school he wants to go to. He's got a 3.8 GPA, which is awesome. Is that right? Yeah, that's amazing. If you have a 3.8 GPA, you're looking at a potential academic scholarship of $20,000 and above, which is freaking amazing. So it's so great that he has that. Given his club level, I haven't seen his video yet because he hasn't made one, but right now he's gonna have to prioritize Division III schools, but top academic Division III schools like a Claremont McKenna, like a Pomona-Pitzer, Harvey Mudd if you want to stay in California. Otherwise, he can look at the East Coast. You've got the NESCAC schools, which are extraordinarily competitive, but but there's also a bunch of other Hamilton, Haverford types of schools that are amazing academically and they're really hard to get into and you have a much better chance because you're playing soccer. Does that make sense? So, from what he needs to do as of today is first of all, he's made already himself go, look, I need to make some adjustments, but he's willing to do it and you're going into your junior year? Yes, I am. So this is perfect. If he gets a video done in the next 2 to 3 months, goes to some ID camps at the end of this summer, August 5th and 6th is Claremont's. Alright. So you should go to that one. And then he's got to ask them and say, what level do you believe I can play? And then follow up with some emails. And then of course he can give me a call, uh, once your video's sorted. Cool. All right, man. Hey, thank you so much. You're welcome, dude. Absolutely. See you guys later.
