After an ID camp, don't wait for coaches to call. Follow up by email with game film, ask what recruiting class you fit, and attend their fall games. Most offers come from persistent contact, not the camp itself.
What's the number one mistake you're making after you go to an ID camp? So hopefully many of you are going to ID camps this summer and getting seen by college coaches. This also is true for showcases as well. You're not going to go to the camp and get an offer. It's almost never happened. I've never seen it happen where you go to the camp, the coach walks up to you and says, here's an offer, I want you on the team. Most of the time what this leads to is a visit for the fall if they really liked you, which comes through email. College coaches know you're interested in going to their school, but they also don't know if right after the camp you don't like it anymore. Maybe you don't like their coaching. Maybe another coach came up to you at the camp and now you want their school instead. Because the coaches get in the I don't know, yes, some of their top players they will go after, but some of those top players don't wanna go to their school. So then you, being the motivated individual you are, you show them love and affection and say, hey coach, I care about you, I wanna go to your school, I was at your ID camp, I really appreciate what you taught me, and I'd like to follow up and ask you what level you think I should aim for. And that tends to get the best response. Now, if you are a junior, you should ask the question, are you considering me for the class of X or 2025? Because you need an answer and you need an answer right away. Because if they're not going to like you, you need to move on with your life and go focus on a different school. But if you think you're going to go to camp and go, oh, this is like a camp and then I'm just going to get picked, I'm sorry, mom and dad and athlete. That's not how ID camps work. The camp is just the first punch in the ring. You got to knock them out, and to knock them out, you're going to have to follow up multiple times, again with video, then go to their fall game and show them you love them until they express, hey, we don't love you back, in which case you should move on.
