An injured student-athlete shouldn't disappear from coaches' radar. Send bi-weekly emails with physical therapy videos and progress updates to stay top of mind. The injury period becomes a real-time story of resilience that coaches actually want to see.

Hi everyone, I understand you have been injured. I just want to clarify some small things real quick. So even if the coaches say to you like, we need to see you play in person, which of course they still do even if you're injured, being injured does not stop the recruiting process. So let's say you stop messaging completely, right, until you're healthy. They're gonna go find other people and they're gonna write you off. And then when you do write them an email into the future, we have a new problem, which is they don't know where you've been this whole time. So what we strongly recommend, because you're not the first player to get injured and you're not the last, what we strongly recommend and this is separate to do with us for a second, I'll get into that in a minute. You must continue to email them, which we can help you with, of course. Must continue to email them on a biweekly to monthly basis with updates on your injury. And we need to have videos, which we will edit for you, of you doing PT, of your updates. You're not the first time the player's been injured. They want to know, can you make it through an injury? When you're getting recruited, you're telling a documentary about yourself, a life story in real time, not Here's what happened in my life a year ago, like a regular document. This is my life story. I just got injured. I know you wanna see me in person. Here's me doing PT. Here's me watching soccer. I actually went, we watched one of your games from the season. This is what player I thought was really great. So then when you do get back to healthy, which is probably gonna be in a relative timeframe, when you do get back to being healthy, you will now automatically have their attention. Oh yeah, we've been watching your physical therapy this whole time. Gonna watch you play, gonna come to your camp, gonna come to your showcase. So just because you're injured does not stop the recruiting process. And we strongly encourage you to continue to be equally as aggressive. In my perfect world, I would actually have everybody get injured just for this opportunity because that's how powerful it is. You don't have to go to ID camps anymore. You don't have to worry about showcases. You're injured. And it kind of gives you the opportunity to send messages to coaches without them asking anything of you and without you asking anything of them. You can just be nice. Hi, coach. Wishing you happy holidays. Hi, coach. Happy New Year. Hi, coach. I hurt myself with this injury. Here's me doing a gym workout. Hi, coach. Just want to check in. How's your recruiting process going? I'm not asking for any good reason, just because I'm just saying it to stay up to date. I'm still not fit yet, but I just want to catch up because, you know, you're really important to me. It's the best thing. Now, you can never tell anybody to get injured on purpose. I would never do that. So instead, if people are fit, we just keep going. But the process does not stop when you are injured. In fact, it gives us this opportunity and we still have to make video and we'll make it for you, of course. So that's my opinion.
