80% of college soccer players attended ID camps, but they only work if you target realistic schools for your level. Reach out to coaches before attending, skip camps where you don't fit, and focus on mass camps in 8th-10th grade, then get selective by 11th.

So first of all, let's look at the statistics. 80% of college athletes have gone to an ID camp, and better yet, the school they have committed to, 80% of those kids have gone to the ID camp. So you have to go to ID camp. Now, the reason many of you think they're a scam is because you're going to camps that are not realistic. If you're going to UCLA camp and you're not playing MLS Next or ECNL, you're probably wasting your time. And then you go, well, they didn't even watch me. That's correct, because they don't want you because you're probably not the level. On the flip side, you might be the exception, right? You might be the ECNL RL, MLS Next 2 kid that is the level. In which case, send them an email beforehand, get genuine interest, and then go to the bloody camp. On top of the fact, you should be grateful that ID camps exist. What are the chances that you can just go to an ID camp and get to be seen by a coach? What if you could go to an LA Galaxy camp and the head coach was actually going to be there? Yeah, is it likely you're going to get picked? Statistically, no. Statistically, the chance of you being alive, let alone playing college soccer, are not very likely. But this does give you a chance. What you want to do is make the most of that chance. So you want to have them get to know you before you go to the camp as best you can. But otherwise, you know, you may not get to. So go to the camp. Now, this is very true for 9th, 10th, 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. Once you're in 11th grade, you don't get to live in la-la land and go to some camp just because you want to go to UCLA or Stanford or whatever other school you're thinking about. By 11th grade, you have to be, have become realistic with yourself and go to camps where you have received genuine interest, which is why I don't really recommend Mass ID camps as a junior. Mass ID camps are specifically for 8th, 9th, and 10th and are so powerful during that period of time because then when you get to 11th, you're only focusing on schools that are realistic, and then the camps are beautiful investments.
