When are Division III college coaches recruiting your age group? So let's talk about juniors. When are they going to recruit you? So in my experience, having done hundreds, literally actually at this point hundreds of thousands of emails with my students that I did on my own, alongside my students, we find that for the most part, everything starts on fire your sophomore year. Now that's just the soccer part. You need to do a lot of things academically and in club soccer. Prior to your sophomore year if you really want to get recruited. But sophomore year is when your butt should be on fire because you need to do stuff. So with this particular student, the coach said the following: Thank you for your interest in us. I'm going to leave the school blank for now. We do have a little time on our side as you're only a sophomore. So this is the type of email you want to get. There's only late and early. There is no on time. The next time— and if you've seen my other videos, we had a coach saying, hey, you know what, we already committed our players and you're late. There's only early and late, so you wanna be early. So we do have a little time. Our primary recruiting target for this showcase that they were gonna attend is with juniors and seniors, but we'll be focusing on you this time next year. This was in February of this person's sophomore year. So they're saying in February of his junior year is when they'll be doing only focusing on him. But guess what? This particular student wants to go to Princeton, wants to go to Columbia, and this student later, this email, we did this with him nearly a year ago, it's about 8 months ago, is now a junior and had a meeting, went to a fall game by getting an invite to Princeton and to Columbia. And it started with getting emails like this from these types of schools because that's how you get the interest of the D1s and the big boy D1s. And this is a top academic school themselves. So that's why I say the recruiting process if you want to go to top schools does need to start, you know, prior to your sophomore year regarding club soccer and your academics. but then the college bid really starts your sophomore year. So, this particular student now is in the running to not only get recruited by this school because he's been sending them videos since their sophomore year, but also by the top Division I schools. So, the answer is please start by your sophomore year lighting your butt on fire. You can still manage it if you're doing junior year, but doors will close because that's how the recruiting process works.
