Three mistakes at ID camps: attending mass camps instead of genuine ones with coach invitations, showing up at schools that don't need your position, and asking coaches if they'll recruit you instead of asking what level you should target. Get real feedback on where you actually fit.

What are 3 things you should never do if you're going to an ID camp? Number 1, you should always aim for a genuine ID camp, meaning you've gotten a genuine invitation from the coach, or it's your dream school and you want to go anyways, or you're in 8th, 9th, or 10th grade and you say, look, I want to go to this camp because I want them to start to get to know me. Once you hit junior year, you should never go to a mass ID camp, pretty much over every circumstance, and you should make sure you go only when you're genuine. That's number 1. Number 2, make sure that the schools that are attending need your position. So maybe you didn't get a genuine invitation, but you were able to find out that they're looking for your position, and you would do that through email. You know what, it maybe wasn't genuine, but they're looking for my position, so now it's my job to play the best I can in order to get recruited. Number 3, make sure after the camp you don't only say, do you want to recruit me? Are you interested in me? Because the coaches don't know. They just saw you at camp. They have many things they have to consider, especially at the D1 level. So instead, I want you to ask, what level do you believe I should aim for? This allows them to give you feedback, also allows them to give you a hint of whether or not they think you're a reference, or you can realize, hey, I'm not the level and I need to move on.
