The College Soccer Guy shows how to spend just one hour weekly on recruiting: make a highlight reel with WeVideo, use his College Soccer Email Platform to send personalized emails directly from your account, and track coach responses in a detailed system. He warns against third-party services like NCSA that lack the trust of direct contact.

If you only have 1 hour a week in order to play college soccer, here's exactly the 3 things I would do in under 60 seconds. I'm the College Soccer Guy, and I help you play college soccer in under 60 seconds. Number 1, you need to collect the highlight video. And so if you only have an hour, you're going to need to collaborate that footage very quickly. So you might need to outsource it, meaning to hire somebody to put the video together. Or if you can put the video together, make sure you've already got the video put together, and then actually the editing part, you can use a website called wevideo.com. It allows you to put in the circle super easily, and that's a good one. Number 2, you're going to need some sort of technical system that allows you to send many emails at once from your own email account in a very genuine way that you're in charge of. We call this the College Soccer Email Platform. It's of course something proprietary to me. It's hard to replicate it, so I guess part of the truth is I'm saying you're not going to be able to do this in an hour, but actually what we do with our students is it only takes them about an hour a week to do the recruiting process because of the systems we have in place. We edit their videos, we help them send the emails, we have a system that kind of does it relatively automated, it organizes automatically, so that helps a lot. But for the rest of you, until you get that system, you're going to need to write the emails manually and it's gonna take you longer than an hour, unfortunately. Number 3: when you're trying to respond to schools, make sure you have some way to organize it in the following manner: genuine, generic, text, phone call, Instagram, mass email, visit, unofficial visit, and completed or done. Completed means they no longer want you. Done means either you're interested or you're no longer interested. And of course you should have a commitment section. If you keep all those sections in your email system that you have, then every time you get an email you can organize it into that category. And of And of course we have something like that which enables us to work really quickly. And NCSA and every other recruiting agency you talk to— sorry, I'm over the 60 seconds— they all have some type of magic email platform. But the problem with all those platforms is they come from the company's account. And no college coaches— I get on the phone call all the time and ask them, do you like NCSA? Do you use it? Do you want emails? I get coaches who say, I've never used it. I don't trust it. I've even had coaches tell me, if I follow you on NCSA, I don't even know who followed you. It wasn't me. They have no idea how that occurs. Even to myself, I want to investigate it. I want to figure out what the hell that means because they just want to help you play college soccer. So I actually recently, off topic, I messaged a coach. I said, hey, you recently followed a kid on NCSA. Like, do you like him? He's a sophomore. Like, are you even allowed to do that? He goes, I have no idea what you're talking about. Like, I don't touch NCSA. So I don't know how NCSA do it or what it looks like, but I just don't trust it, which is the problem. So for me, I don't believe in that system. I believe it's got to come from your own email account, but you still have to do what NCSA does have, which is to send a lot of emails at once in a genuine way from your own account, which they do not have. So if you want more help, comment, call, and we can talk about that too. Tool and how to get it in your hands, and, uh, schedule a call with you and your parents. Bye.
