MLS Academy coaches look for players who can do 300 to 700 consecutive juggles by age 12. You have to email coaches, post skill videos, and attend open tryouts. They won't find you. College ID camps are where academy scouts also look.

If you want to play MLS Academy, what should be your juggling record by the age of 12? If you expect to be the level to play for an MLS Academy, typically by 12 years old you should be at about 300 to 700 juggles. Now, being a good juggler does not mean you're a good soccer player, but not being able to juggle means you probably don't touch the ball enough at home. So for you parents watching this video who say, my child's really committed, I promise they're so committed, if they can't get to 300 juggles by the age of 12 then probably they still could be very good at soccer, but they might not love it as much as is required to end up playing for an MLS academy. You can still go play MLS Next 2, you can still go play Easton RL, but to play at an MLS academy affiliated with a professional team, that is the level typically by the age of 12. Now once you have a record of you playing or juggling at this amount, remember, being a good juggler doesn't make you a good soccer player, so you need to send this information out to those coaches. So you need to email them, you need to go to their open tryouts, you need to show yourself at their locations. Do not expect them ever to come to you. You must go try out for them. And making a video is really important. Getting better at soccer, of course, is very important. And then if you work with us, we actually have you start messaging college soccer teams because 95% of the college soccer teams are run by the directors of these MLS academies. So a lot of the time you might want to get in through the tryouts, but they're so busy, there's too many kids. But if you go to a college ID camp, the coaches of the college ID camp, guess what, are the coaches of the MLS academies. If you want more help, give me a call, DM me. Bye.
