Three mistakes college soccer recruits make: skipping summer camps, not having a one-minute highlight video, and sending it only to top programs instead of starting with Division III schools. Coaches want to see progression, so build interest at smaller schools first.

3 things I would never do as a freshman if I want to play college soccer. Number 1, if you don't go to any camps this summer, that would be a mistake. Number 2, you should have a 1-minute highlight video. Number 3, if you're worried that you're not good enough to send your video out to college coaches, then don't send it to your favorite coaches right away, but send it to some lower-level schools to begin with. If you don't start now, you'll be left behind whether or not you're ready. College coaches like to see progression. So if you're not the best today, start with the Division III schools, get them interested, and then you'll be able to work your way up the ladder. If you want to know which camps you should go to this summer, comment the word quiz and I'll send you a quiz to let you know which camp you should go to.
