A 5'6
Chapters
How did I go from playing JV soccer as a junior in high school to getting a full-ride scholarship to play Division I soccer? The first thing I did is I had to understand that as a 5'6" amazing person, I was going to have to be understanding of which schools were going to be realistic for me. Number 2, I was really lucky. My father was an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker. He made a lot of video for me. So despite not being on the best teams, my video was able to get the attention of college coaches. Number 3, my mother was in PR for the Power Rangers, and so she knew how to write a beautiful email. She understands the importance of being a good person through email communication. I went to a lot of ID camps with genuine interest, and we made connections with those schools. Then what happened was I got an offer from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and then they rescinded the offer a few months later. But at that same camp was Phil Ruskin, who would later go on to recruit me to Valpo. Now, my goal was to play at the pro level, and this felt very professional, so I was really excited. I love the Midwest. I loved my team, and I went on to get a full ride scholarship and be the captain as a sophomore. I then had to do all that hard work again because I wanted to play pro soccer, and then I signed pro right after college. If you want more help playing college soccer, give me a call.
