Two coaches review how a high school soccer junior got two verbal offers and interest from schools like Westminster and Colorado through targeted emails, one showcase, and a strong highlight video. They explain his low-stress summer plan balances Division I goals with Division II/III backup options while he recovers from a minor injury.
It's story time with one of my juniors who just got 2 offers to play college soccer. So this is a junior and it is April 30th, 2024.
So after all the emails we've done and after the showcase, as of April of your junior year, you got 2 verbal offers, basically.
2 verbals, basically, yeah. And they want— Westminster wants me to go on to an official visit.
Okay.
So I think I'm gonna do that.
Okay, amazing. Obviously, this allows a lot of opportunities for those schools But also for our, as we've discussed, you know, talking about some of the other schools and also on worst case scenario, you can play college soccer, which is like less than 5%. So that's pretty freaking fantastic as far as where we were like 3 months ago with basically nothing. So, and a lot of that was due to emails and one showcase, which is epic. No camps, no nothing. That's, that's great, man.
Fantastic. Okay. They're junior. They don't graduate until 2025. Amazing. They have 2 verbal offers.
Say that again. Sorry.
Every touch video is a definite.
Definitely done like a lot and helped a lot. Yeah, doing those, especially for schools in California. Like, I've kept up with, um, I mean, I still—
they even wrote him a handwritten letter.
Colorado a lot. They actually, they sent me like a letter the other day, like, just like once or twice a month. Same with, uh, Cal State San Marcos.
And they have a bunch of interest from other schools. We started with this player at the beginning of their junior year, and the reason that's so important is because now this player has an injury. Now, the injury isn't severe, but it's probably going to keep them out for a couple months. Are we nervous? Are we scared? No. Because he already has 2 offers from schools he likes. And he has his number 1 choice not quite in the bag, but he has a school that he already likes a lot, and he even likes it more than some of the Division II or Division I schools because he loves the coach. This is where I would like you to be in the recruiting process, where you're not terribly stressed if you get injured, if your coach doesn't play you, if you have to switch club teams. This player's summer is gonna be pretty relaxed. He'll go to a few ID camps. He kind of already knows what he wants. And he'll be able to pursue the Division I schools to the utmost he wants. He will not have to worry tremendously about if he's going to play college soccer and if he's going to lose an opportunity because he's got 3 or 4 schools that are seriously interested in him that he's also interested in at the DII and DIII level. And so now he can spend the majority of his time focusing on Division I schools. And if he goes to Division I schools and they like him but they say he's not going to play a lot of minutes or he doesn't like the area or they give him less money, then he'll have a decision. But he has decisions, and that's what I want for you. If you want more help playing college soccer, give me a call. Links in the bio.
