Western Oregon University is recruiting 7th and 8th graders, either because they need roster depth or want camp revenue. If you're a high school sophomore and haven't started emailing coaches, making highlight videos, or going to camps, you're already behind your peers. Start now.
What school is still recruiting for the class of 2025 and 2026 and 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030? So you guys have probably gotten emails like this before: last chance to register for this camp, and we're actively recruiting, da da da da da, for da da da da da. This is Western Oregon. So first of all, getting this message in July, if they specifically mention they're still recruiting 2025s and we're in the summer, there's probably truth to that because that means they need players. Maybe somebody got injured, could be something else. Could also be a marketing stunt. You know, they're trying to get as many people to camp as possible because it is a way for them to make money. But the key thing I want you to notice here is they went all the way to 2030s. Okay, that means they're in 7th grade going into 8th grade. This is Western Oregon, which is a good program. It's certainly not considered a top 25 program, but some years they're very good. And they are recruiting 7th and 8th graders. So this idea that in sophomore year, if you haven't sent out emails yet and you're not sending emails with video and you're not going to camps that you're okay, I just want you to know there are other players who are ahead of you in the process, including some of our students. So if you are a sophomore and you have not written emails or you have not made video or you're not going to camps and you're going into your sophomore year, this is a time to begin. I would implore you to do so. If you want more help, give me a call. Links in the bio. Talk to you soon. Goodbye.
