Zev Taublieb shows soccer recruits how to write email subject lines that coaches actually read. Use this format: club level and name, GPA, position, graduation year, your name. Coaches scan these on their phones and search them later, so skip the hype and stick to facts.

One of the biggest mistakes most of you make is you put in something extravagant like explosive or really fast or hardworking. Coaches do not want your opinion about anything. They only want the facts. So here is that amazing subject line. Step number 1, you're gonna put your club level and your club name. So for example, Meadowville MLS Next. It will stand out more than the other emails. That's just a fact. Your GPA. If you have below a 3.5 GPA, you can maybe move this down here, but a 3.5 and above is very good, and that is something to show off about. Your position. Remember, when they open in the email, this is all they're going to be able to see. Anything extra, they probably won't even be able to see it, especially if they're looking on their phone. So put your position, put your grad year, and the last thing is your name. What's important— the reason it's important to put your name is because the coaches will eventually search you, be like, what was— oh, I remember that last kid, that last name. So they want to be able to find you. If they have to search Meadowville or GPA position, that's going to make their life really difficult.
