High school soccer players should send coaches a 2-3 minute highlight reel yearly, then 4-6 every-touch videos showing each touch in short clips. After five videos, attend an ID camp. Expect to send 10-12 emails before a coach responds.

Hey coach, how long should my highlight video be? Highlight video should be 2 to 3 minutes, no more than that. However, most people think college coaches want multiple highlight videos, and that is not true. They want one highlight video. Then after seeing one video, they've seen the best of what you can produce, so now they want to see you in a full game. Now they're not going to watch a full game because they're freaking busy, so instead you're going to make every-touch videos. This is every single touch you've taken within a game and then you're gonna cut that and send it over, kinda like a SparkNotes. Now they want the good and the bad. If you had a really horrible moment and it doesn't do the game justice, sure, take that one bad moment out. But otherwise, you shouldn't just have a highlight video again. It needs to have the parts where you lose the ball, and the coaches are looking about how you lose it. What's your reaction when you lose it? You're going to make mistakes, so the coaches must have one highlight video in a given year and 4 to 6 every-touch videos. After 4 videos, videos don't help you anymore and you're going to have to go to the ID camp. The hope is that by sending 5 total videos within a year period, you will have gone to an ID camp, they would have seen you, and you can follow up with videos so then they can either decide to come to your showcase or come to your game. Remember, it takes about 4 to 8 emails before any coach will come to a game or get on a phone call with you or invite you for a visit. And that's assuming they're responding to those. So it takes about 10 to 12 emails to actually knock them out per se so they listen to you. That sounds like a lot of work. Um, how do you help me with that? So one of the things that we do is we've created this email system that comes from your own email account so you can send emails to coaches periodically, consistently, to many of them all at once. We call it the Cold Soccer Guy AI. If you want more help playing cold soccer, give me a call. Links in the bio. Talk soon. Goodbye.
