A parent discusses getting their son noticed by college soccer scouts. The kid has a 4.0 GPA, plays varsity at a tiny rural school, and has been playing since age three. They're weighing whether to use a service to boost his visibility to recruiters.
just how I can help him, you know, like, what can we do to, I guess, get the ball rolling, figure out how to get him noticed and how to get his name out there? I mean, I think so. We live in a pretty small area, pretty rural area. He plays in a D— what do we call it? EDP. Yeah. I need— well, I mean, for travel, but his high school is very, very small. So, you know, he plays varsity, but for the tiniest high schools we have out here. So his exposure is mostly through travel, obviously. So, you know, we're trying to get him noticed more through, through that venue. Because it's what he wants to do. It's his, it's his passion. I mean, grades, we're not worried about. He has a 4.0. He's always had a 4.0. I mean, he's just started high school, but it's always started off very, very strong. So academically, he's, he's tight. But, you know, it is just he's been playing soccer since he was 3. So he's always dreamed of— he's highly motivated for soccer. I mean, and academics, he works hard at everything he does. So, you know, and a parent's job is to try to get their kids to succeed, right? So this is what he wants to do. I mean, I understand the service, I understand the process. I mean, really, I want to sit down and talk with my wife about it some more before we move forward. It's a family decision. And then, you know, I mean, if I'm hearing you right, there's no pressure to commit today, so we would be in touch fairly shortly to let you know. So he has— he's finishing a futsal season with his travel team. He's also gonna— he's been invited to play futsal with another travel team that he's never played with before. So we're taking him to there. They're a bigger club across the bridge, so we're hoping this is going to open some opportunities too. And then spring season starts up soon.
