In this video, the College Soccer Guy advises soccer players on how to structure their recruiting media. He recommends sending highlight videos first, followed by a few “every‑touch” clips, and only later adding training footage. All Instagram content should be vertical; horizontal clips are ineffective. The same vertical clips can be uploaded to YouTube Shorts, giving coaches multiple angles to review. When sharing a training video, provide a link to the Instagram post so coaches can explore the player’s broader profile, including personal photos that help them get to know the athlete as a person. The speaker emphasizes that coaches recruit for four years and want well‑rounded, trouble‑free players. He ends with a call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to comment “call” to schedule a personalized recruiting consultation.

Training videos can be really helpful, but you want to send those later. Focus on your highlight videos first and what we call every-touch videos. Training videos can come later, like after you've sent your highlight video and maybe one or two every-touch videos, then you can have training and you should put it on your Instagram and you reformat it so it's vertical. Do not send horizontal Instagram clips. We're too far away. We cannot see them. They're basically literally a waste. Have everything on social media be vertical, and then you take that same vertical clip and you can put it on YouTube as a short. And now when coaches go to your YouTube page, which is better than having a SportsRecruits or your own website, they can go through YouTube and go, here's an every touch video. Oh, here's another angle of that every touch video where it's zoomed in. I like seeing both. And if you're gonna send a training video, it's best if it's on social media so that way you can send 'em the training video and go, hey coach, here's my training video. You send 'em a link to your Instagram, even though it is a training video, and now they're clicking your link and going to your Instagram page, and then they'll be much more likely to follow you and watch the rest of it. And more importantly, they'll be able to see your other clips that you've posted, or maybe a picture with your family at Thanksgiving. Remember, coaches want to get to know you as a person, so they want this Instagram Specific, but specifically for getting recruited. They want to get to know the whole person. They're going to recruit you for 4 years, remember, and they don't want any troublemakers. I'm the College Soccer Guy, and I help you play college soccer. If you want more help, comment "call" and we can schedule a call with you and your parents.
