A coach tells MLS NEXT sophomores to start recruiting now: build a one-minute highlight video, contact college coaches across all divisions, and attend ID camps where you'll stand out. Junior year will be too late to explore your options.

If I'm a sophomore playing MLS NEXT, here are 3 things I'd be doing right now. The last one's really important because it allows you to get seen by coaches right away. First, if you're wondering like when is the right time to start, if you want to play for the top 25 schools, then it's always better to start in 8th, 9th grade. But if you're a sophomore, this is really the best time. You've gotten better. You're probably now good enough to go to ID camps. So sophomore is the year to begin. So you should, when you, video should already have been collected. You have a video put together and it's time to start sending. Or at the very least, you should start collecting some video. You only need 1 minute's worth to start sending out to college coaches. Number 2, you don't know what level you might be able to play yet and all the doors are open, right? Most opportunities for most colleges are available to you. Nobody's really done with the recruiting process. So if you wanna aim big for a Division I school or a big Division II or big Division top academic DIII, This is the chance to go to those opportunities because by junior year you cannot do that. You'll be wasting your time. And by junior year you need to have already spoken to those coaches and know where it's realistic for you to spend your money and your time. And regarding the last point, which talks about how to get seen right away, this is where I want you to go to the camps. So pick the camp to go to because you can get seen right away in person. And because you're playing MLS Next as a sophomore, not only will you be one of the better players there, the coaches will want to know who you are more than everybody else there. If you want more help playing Call of Sark, give us a call. Links in the bio. Bye!
