Freshman girls soccer players should attend 2-3 ID camps per year. If you're not at ECNL/GA level, focus on Division III camps where coaches care more about camp performance than club reputation. One Division I camp is optional for exposure, but don't expect recruitment unless you're athletically ready.

What college ID camp should you go to if you're a girls soccer player who is a freshman? First of all, as a girls soccer player, remember that as a freshman you're not really a freshman, you're actually a sophomore. So as a pretend sophomore girls soccer player, you should be going to mass ID camps. I would recommend 2 to 3 a year depending on what you'd like. If you're not playing ECNL or GA, going to Division 1 camp as a freshman, quote unquote sophomore, could still be a great idea in order to start to gain their interest. But if you're not the level as that age and college coaches know you're not going to garner the interest of those Division 1 schools. So I would really recommend going to top academic Division 3 camps instead. However, you can go to one Division 1 camp to get you used to what a camp is like, but also so that way you can have the coach know your name. But don't expect to be recruited if you're still, say, premature for your age athletically. What you want to do instead is go to the D3 camps because, one, less girls go to those camps, so there's a lot of opportunity there. Two, top academic Division 3 schools are really competitive. And three, College coaches don't really recruit from Division I ID camps unless they really know you from your club team. In addition, Division III schools, on the other hand, don't care as much about your club team. If you're really good at the camp, they will want you. If you'd like to know a list of camps for you based off of your age as a girl, comment the word quiz and I will send you a quiz that will ask you a series of questions to help you figure out which ID camps you should go to.
