The College Soccer Guy recommends the Trace camera for high school players recruiting to college. It auto-trims every touch, tracks stats and heat maps, and lets you email coaches with data. He warns against bragging in your pitch and shows how to frame improvement over time.
Which camera is the best to use in order to get the attention of college soccer coaches? So right here is a trace camera, and it is pretty much objectively the best one. The reason it's particularly fantastic for college coaches is not only does it automatically cut every single touch you take with these amazing tracers, it also provides stats throughout the season that compare you to your other players. So let's say one of your other players or teammates is getting recruited by a D1 school and you have the statistics to say, hey look, we have the same numbers or better numbers or similar numbers. You can use that in the emails that you to send to coaches. Now, when you send that to coaches, you cannot just say like, here are my stats. You have to word it in a way that is not so braggadocious but also informative. You could say, hey, dear coach— always start with dear— dear coach, I recently have been able to access footage from Trace, and because of that, I would like to show you the following clips. And he also give you a heat map and statistics. It also does a heat map, which is amazing. With one of my sophomores right now, we're going to leverage those numbers, and we're going to track that player throughout his high school years because he's only a sophomore. And then we're going get to show the coaches, look how much I've progressed, look how much I've improved in my speed, because then college coaches go, well, look, he's going to come in as a freshman and maybe he's at this level, but we know by his second, third year he's going to be at this level because he's proven it already. This is not to say the other cameras are not also good. It's more important, or the most important, that you get some level of video. iPhone footage is just as fine as well. But if you want to know the very best one, this is it. I'm the College Soccer Guy and I help you play college soccer. If you would like help in this process, give me a call and I'll talk to you soon.
