High school athletes make three recruiting mistakes: not sending recruiters their personal schedule with jersey number and game details, assuming coaches will show up to showcases when many can't, and skipping follow-up emails even to schools they're not interested in.

Never make these 3 mistakes when you're traveling to a showcase. Number 1: When you send your schedule, please put your jersey number and your jersey color. Do not depend on your club team to hand out a pamphlet. It's great bonus if they do, but do not depend on them. You must send emails yourself and you must send your schedule yourself. Make sure it's very specific. Say the exact time, the exact date, who you're playing against. Otherwise, they may not come to your game. Number 2: Bank on them not coming. Odds are they're not going to make it. Now, even if they tell you they're going to come, and we really hope they do come, there's a very good chance they're not going to be able to make it. Not because they don't want to. They may have gone sick. Another player may have informed that they need to be seen. Maybe they get a call from their wife that they're having a baby. Whatever it might be, you don't want to depend on them to see you at a showcase in order to get recruited. That's why email, video, and sometimes ID camps are really important. Number 3, when your club team tells you, hey, they were at our game, even better if they asked about— make sure you follow up with everybody, even if you don't want to go to that school, even if you don't know if you want to go to that school, because following up is so key to getting the ball moving, to getting interest. These coaches leave their job. Never know if you think you don't want the school, but then you end up liking the school, or maybe that coach would be a reference for you. It's very hard to get seen in person, so follow up with everybody. If you want more help, comment "call" and you'll be able to schedule a call with you and your parents. Talk to you soon.
