A 16-year-old MLS NEXT player with a 3.8 GPA should email college coaches now about fall games, contact showcases in November through February with a template, and create two video assets: a highlight reel and a full-game cut showing every touch. An editor named Taka can help with the clips.

If I am 16 years old and I want to play Division 1 college soccer and I play MLS NEXT with a 3.8 GPA, here are 3 things I would do right away. Number 1, the fall season's almost over. So if you haven't already sent an email about inquiring to come to a game this fall, send that out as soon as you can. Number 2, you probably have a showcase coming up in November, December, January, or February depending on which MLS NEXT team you are with. At the end of October, send out the mass showcase template which is basically a version of you inquiring about meeting them at the showcase and sending your schedule. Number 3, make sure you have 2 every-touch videos. So you should have 1 main highlight video, and then at this point only be focusing on full games. You should have Taka. Taka often cuts your clips for you, but you gotta make sure they're every-touch videos. So the full game cut up into the every touch you took. If you wanna know which MLS NEXT events you should be attending, comment the word MLS NEXT and I can send you a list.
