In this solo YouTube video, Zev Taublieb outlines the three biggest errors he observes among ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) soccer players during their freshman year of high school when navigating the college recruiting process. First, he debunks the belief that college coaches cannot contact freshmen, noting recent NCAA rule changes that now allow Division II and III coaches to reach out freely, and even Division I coaches can initiate contact under certain conditions. Second, he argues that elite ECNL freshmen should not wait to be more developed before seeking exposure; because they are already among the best for their age, early visibility gives them a competitive edge, as illustrated by the example of 17‑year‑old prodigy Yamin Lamal, whose youth and talent attract coach interest. Third, he addresses the common reaction to receiving generic email replies from coaches, urging players to follow up with personalized messages, attach additional highlight videos, and maintain a communication chain—especially when dealing with Division I programs that may be restricted from formally responding. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to comment “call” to schedule a recruitment consultation with the speaker and their parents.
