Will high school soccer help me play Division I college soccer? So the short answer is no, high school soccer will not help you play any level of college soccer on paper. Now there's always exceptions. You're gonna have your Gatorade Player of the Year, you're gonna have your high school team that wins the championship in their state, and a local school will know about you. But as a whole, college coaches are very rarely ever going to come scout you at your high school game. Now getting better is super helpful, your high school coach might be really helpful, and you can get really good video. In my case, I had video of me playing JV JV soccer. Here I am playing JV soccer in junior year of high school, getting tons of great footage, because even though I didn't make the varsity team, I got a ton of great video, and I mixed that in with my club video, and eventually I got a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 soccer. But they never saw me in high school. They thought my video was good, then I went to their camp, then I sent video of my showcases, and that's how I got recruited to get a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 soccer.
